I'm very dissapointed about this web hosting service because it is only for amateur purposes, when you go to pro, you just don't get what you must get from a web hosting "PRO" service, PHP simply didn't work for me, the only database I had, never got functional, the update time was about 5 minutes!!! I'm looking for a real PRO hosting service, any suggestions?

Since 2000 I have built several websites on Yahoo Geocities Free. Each year has gotten worse as Geocities arbitrarily censors and bans websites. In 2000 the Geocities Directory worked well and you could like your site pages by content. They starting banning and delisting anything remotely political or controversial, until by 2007, Geocities directory is broken and no one can list anything. This is political censorship same as Yahoo China uses to ban websites. One of my websites published a few Abu Grhaib prison torture photos and within a few weeks Geocities deleted and banned entire website without notice, with only one explanation: "Your website has been deleted due to violation of content agreement." Geocities Help still advises posting your website to the Geocities Directory, which is now completely disabled. Try posting any website to any category and it just warns: "Hey kids you must post to the Yahooligans Kids directory!" This is deliberate. Geocities knows we are not kids. Geocities simply decided to kill their directory without explanation. No one can post any website on their directory now. But instead of admitting it, Geocities admits nothing but, well, we cannot list your website since you are a "kid." I tried emailing Geocities and Yahoo, and even called Yahoo at their home office in Sunnyvale. They absolutely will not offer any explanation or excuse for their broken Geocities Directory and their lousy customer service. Geocities is a joke. No one serious about their website should use Geocities. No customer service. No explanation. Blatant political censorship. Geocities is worthless.

I don't really like this host because it doesn't have Cpanel and Mysql. It doesn't have a lot of scripts and no PHP. Only 20 MB.

My site is a gallery of fractal art, so it's full of large image files. I send out periodic updates to family, friends, and interested parties, causing a sudden mild run on my site... and it never fails! EVERY time I do that, the site goes down! There's just not enough bandwidth for a site like mine.
Their WYSIWYG editor is very, very easy to use, and makes floating objects a dream; however, it runs slowly even on broadband internet, and the HTML it creates is a terror if you try to edit it. The adbox isn't too bad, especially since you can close it and ignore it--it's better than banners or pop-ups. In short, this is a host to start out with. They have decent features for the little guy, but if you want anything advanced, skip 'em.

I have had a BIG problems with Yahoo Webhosting. Here it goes. It started out after I subscribed for payed webhosting. It was about a month or so after I started useing thier service, That I noticed, one day I could not sign on to my Yahoo account. I had ended up calling them to find out what was wrong and why my ID was no longer working. They went through the normal procedures of verifing me to my account then proceeded to tell me I was in violation of Yahoo's Terms Of Service, I then asked them what it was I did and they REFUSED to tell me. They said it was against thier policy to tell me (LOL What A Joke} Then I was told that my Yahoo services with that Yahoo ID have been cancled. Well to make a long story short, they kept charging my bank account for over a year and a half after calling them to cancel and stop the charges several times with a promise of a refund, (that I have NEVER seen and I am sure NEVER will.) So much for the little guy! Anyway if you hear of any others that have had this problem with over charging please send them my way. I am thinking about starting up a class action suit against them. And from the way they have been handling this situation with me on the phone I KNOW I am not the only one they are doing this too.

With one simple billing problem. (I had gone past the date on my credit card, was never notified that there was any billing issue and my entire site was deleted from their servers.) All references on my account tol me that I simply had to "reactivate" my account, but that really meant signing up all over again for the service, including paying the setup fee all over again. They still control my domain name (for now). They're cheap ($8.95/month) but you don't get more for your money than you do over their free, ad-based service.

Yahoo hosted my website for the past year. One day my website was gone; they had trouble getting a charge through on my charge card. They did not notify me or warn me in any way that they were disabling my website. They just disabled it. I've repeatedly tried emailing them for the past 2 weeks; finally got a response this morning; a cookie cutter response. Still doesn't help me get my website back up. I'm going to find a new web host and will never give my business to Yahoo again.
