Lousy!

I've been a customer of Valueweb's since around 1998. Up until a year or two ago I would have given them top ratings in everything.

However, something changed. Maybe it was their merger with Hostway. I don't know.

Their main tech support got moved to Sophia, Bulgaria, so now it's hard to understand some of their customer service reps (though not as bad as those in India).

I don't call tech support for simple stuff, so when I call, it's because it's a) Important, and b) over my head, and over the heads of their basic tech support.

Hold times used to be mere minutes, but now it's usually 10 to 18 minutes just to get to talk with someone...in Bulgaria.

Once a tech determines he/she can't help me (duh--i already knew that), they offer to "escalate" the issue. I wish that "escalate" meant "make important" but alas, it does not.

After 2-7 days, I'll usually get an email from tech support stating that the issue was resolved. AND IT USUALLY IS NOT!

I think the techs just mark them Resolved to get them off the desk. Maybe they get a commission on every resolved issue.

When I tried to email with the tech support person who sent the Resolved email, I got no response. Not even a "non-response email address" notice or a bounce. No response. So, to fix the non-resolved issue, I had to call the 800 number, talk to someone in Bulgaria, so through the whole thing all over again just to get the same type of response.

Whenever I tried to talk with a Supervisor, he/she was never available, and I was not even able to leave a message for him/her.

If this is how they treat customers who have been loyal to them for over a decade...wow, I'd hate to be someone just signing up today!

Poor Service, bad billing

Service with this company is terrible. Billing is a nightmare, with multiple months charged for no services. Impossible to cancel this service. They never seem to have your cancelation notice. Stay away, save your money and time.

Worst Ever!

Cannot get in touch with anyone. On hold for HOURS! Tech support does not give accurate information to transfer. Have been trying to ftp transfer for more than 2 WEEKS and cannot get anyone to answer the phone or email back

Appalling service and support

Took 2 phone calls, 1 email, and 2 weeks wait time to get an answer back on a very simple question - and the answer was "we can't help you".

FTP connections constantly broken. When they moved servers, they didnt' move files so the whole site broke.

One of the worst services I've ever had to work with (my client uses them so I was stuck working with them). I lost money because of all the time spent messing around with their horrible support and bad service.

Not a great value

Moved site since they charged me three times as much as the big companies, and the service was always surly and opinionated. Am trying to cancel it via phone (no way to cancel online) and have been on hold for fifteen minutes. Just another reason to look elsewhere.

Email hosting was always problematic -- failed to find the host servers at least three times a day. Tech support was never able to fix this issue.

Terrible, Unacceptable Support

The support is horrible, unacceptable. One to two hours for support hold time tonight. The customer service stops at 3 PM PST, sales at 5 PM PST. Their support site directs me to a webpage and tells me to select something that does not exist, (maybe this is why they are flooded with customer support). I have started my search for a new site after many years here.

Poor customer service. Lengthy wait times. They don't actually read your email complaints... it appears as though a computer reads them and auto-responds.
Some "features" (like Banner Builder) don't work as advertised.
Getting your credit card info over to Payment processing is slow, if it works at all, and not guaranteed. "Oh well" attitude if the info is not transferred properly.
Site building tools are crude and buggy.
Being advertised through Costco, this is a disappointment.

Tech support is worthless. I can't tell you how many times I've been refused to be connect to a supervisor. Value Web does not allow you to show your own url in the address bar. Will cost you customers.

you count on valueweb company to keep you bisness running but software and hardware issues shut you down. they always promise to get you back up but excuses keep causing delays. don't ever let them promise to have your website up before a weekend becaue you can guarantee that it won't be up and running till the following week. about the only thing you can count on their customer service for, is hearing them ask "is there any thing else i can help with", after they just told you that your website won't be brought back up for a few days. Sure you can help - send me a good book to read while by company goes bankrupt listening to your lame excuses.
