Two years ago they were great, prompt service, knowledgeable staff, generally awesome. I don't know if it is because of the transition to the new platform or if they have outsourced everything, but it is awful. Expect to wait a mimimum of one hour on hold for phone support. Expect your emails to go unanswered. Expect no one to ever answer their live onliune chat support. I had it open for three hours on one occaision with no response.

I choose StartLogic based on internet ratings. This is a choice I truely regret. There is a problem with our outgoing emails. The problem has been ongoing for over two months. Ea h time they are contacted, either Startlogic request the same information or tells me there is no problem. Each time I send them proof the problem still exists. There is a level of imcompetence that is hurting my business. I would not recommend Startlogic and am actively searching for a new web hosting service.

Their money back guarantee may have to involve the Attorny General. Be careful. I'm still waiting.

Signed up but they havnt transferred domain name like advitised. No response to email. Frontpage server extionsion dont work either. I'm definitly not staying with these idiots.

Over a year ago when I first signed up with them they were great, today they are a total disaster. There no longer is any technical support, and when there is you can ask a question 10 times and still get nothing but a referral to somewhere in their lousy support information page.
Here is the reality:
Three times I have waited over 45 minutes several times on phone and never reached a live body
Five times I used online support - you can wait up to half an hour to talk to someone who is obviously not paying attention.
What a turnaround from a year ago when I would have given them an 8...no more.

These people are about as smart as a door knob. They are rude without cause and act like they are mad if you ask them to look into anything that is not obvious. We have paid startlogic to setup our reverse dns and they refuse to support their own work. We have clients that we can’t email and they can’t email us. We can’t send out any promotion flyers because if you want to send an email out to more than two people it just stays in the queue for 7 days. You have no notification that an email did not make it to it’s destination until it is 7 days old. I have had a ticket open for 9 days now and have talked to three different techs about the problem. Each one has told me that nothing is in the queue when some emails have been in it for more than 6 days. I just got off the phone with the 4th person I have dealt with on this problem and her attitude has got me on the boarder of going Postal. I have remained calm through the whole process because showing any negativity will only cause them to ignore your problem indefinitely. She informed me that the techs have addressed this issue and have emailed me on three separate occasions. I then informed her that these emails, like the others, did not make it to me. She said that she will update the notes and send it to administrator. She then said they will email me the results when they have time to. I then asked her to have them call me because the emails are not getting to me. She said that that is not their policy and asked for an external email address.
This is not the first time these kind of problems have happened with Startlogic. I have not been with this company a year yet and don’t expect to stay much longer. The 99% up time is a lie that they don’t back at all. The first two weeks of service had us down three times. One of those times lasted more than half a day.
I just want to crawl up into the fetal position under my desk every time one of my users has an email issue.

I just signed up for startlogic and cancelled after only one week.
I signed up because they seemed to have the cheapest prices, but after dealing with them, it's not worth the hassle!
Their vdeck control panel is impossible to use! you need to be an advanced computer geek to figure it out.
Their technical support and customer support are just AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL.
In short, pay the extra $2 a month and go somewhere else.

I had recently moved web hosting services to Startlogic from Challengehost as Challengehost were double billing me and never replied to my emails until the last one that said I was dumping them.
So I signed up with Startlogic and instead of a great first experience, I went from the frying pan into the fire. If only I had known. I did research around looking at reviews but I guess that didn't help me much!
They made an easy switch very difficult. They set up my account fast, I'll give them that but they didn't do anything about transferring the domain registrar. I followed instruction and all they had to do was send an email to my old registrar. Now keep in mind, I didn't know who my old registrar was because I was through a reseller and had no idea about registrars as the time.
So I would send them email, they'd open a support ticket, I waited a week with no response and no action. I then went onto their online chat and was told that I was responsible for changing dns settings at the old registrar but even though I explained that I had no access to this registar to change anything, they insisted it was up to me. I then though (silly me) that a phone call to their support phone line would cure this. Nope, the fella there was quite unhelpful and not pleasant about it either, and he insisted that this was my responsibility.
I actually had to go to Godaddy.com and pay to have my domain transferred over to them so I could at least access the settings and change the dns settings to startlogic. When all was said and done, startlogic then sent me an email indicating they were transferring my domain registrar. Too little too late. Grrr. So anyway, I paid for a year and I will stay for a year but between now and then, I'll be searching long and hard for everything I want in a web hosting company.
