I am webmaster for 3 sites hosted by Seanic.net. for the past few years. The 1st year I had great service and support, but this is no longer the case. Outages are frequent and prolonged. Inquiries to their support department are not answered. Switching to a new host will be a real pain in the neck, and for the past few months, I have resisted doing so thinking that the service may improve...but now I have no choice but to switch....my business depends on it. A simple reply to my support request advising of how long they expected the servers to be down could have prevented my leaving and writing a bad review, but they would never even give me the courtesy of a reply.

As a web developer I have had several web sites hosted with Seanic's linux hosting and all have encountered some problem or other.

Most sites have had intermittant problems with a formmail cgi script being set up and working then not working. Tech support fixed this in 24 hours but it happens again every few months?????

One site had all the jpg's dissappear, flash streaming audio dissappear and the email boxes used for spam and subsequently get blacklisted with spam cop.

Another site was hacked and experienced denial of service.

Another site had a porn site hidden on it. The owner wondered why he was getting so many hits all of a sudden.

In all cases tech support fixed the problems but they should not have happened in the first place.

Security seems to the main issue here

I tried them hosting an ASP site and that was a absolute disater

They are cheap but too many problems which creates unhappy clients.

i still have some web sites hosted there but will eventually move them as the hosting expires

Touch wood, I am very impressed with Seanic, great value for service, I have never had to wait more than 24 hours for customer support and their answers put me back on track. I have already recommended them to friends and shall continue to do so. Many thanks again barbra

My name is Michel Morin, and I am a Seanic Reseller. Seanic is hosting about 50 websites of my customers. Most of the time, evething's going fine and easy, but few days ago I had really a large problem with domain name grandlac.com's URL. I could not access to this website thru my ISP, but could access to the temporary URL grandlac.com.seanic7.net...Everything was against Seanic...My DNS settings were OK, settings were modified more than 48 hours and my cache had been flushed several times to avoid reloading some outdated records. Then I went on their Customer Service chatroom and Judy introduced me with a technician. He finally found that the problem was within my ISP provider's server. ISP's dns server (in the ISP network somewhere) has cached a negative response to domain name www.grandlac.com, and this happens as DNS servers often cache dns results including negative results. We also found that users connected thru another connection provider had successful access to grandlac.com and that this issue was related exclusively to my own connection provider. So the problem was an HOSTNAME problem....

It's easy to throw the stone if you don't understand the dark side of the internet...
