I have had a reseller account with ReadyHosting for about 6 years, on which I host two accounts. I was very happy with the set-up process, the uptime, the customer service and the value for my money for several years -- UNTIL THEY GOT BOUGHT OUT. The transition from the old to the new company took place over the course of a few months late 2005/early 2006 and it has been nothing but headaches ever since then.
The reason I chose ReadyHosting was because they offered FrontPage support with realtime editing as well as .asp support. I use FrontPage 2003, SP2 with Jimco Open Web to maintain my web sites which use .asp. This configuration has always worked flawlessly for me with this host -- in the 4-5 years with the old company, I may have had to contact support all of 2-3 times due to corrupt FrontPage extensions (more of a Microsoft issue than a hosting issue). Since migrating to the new company 8 months ago, I have contacted support 24 times.
A couple of times it was due to web site unavailabilty during standard business hours (with no prior notification of down time) and a couple of times it was due to permissions issues (somehow the permissions on my account had been reset on the server so that I could not access), but primarily the issues have been related to their incompatibility inability to properly support FrontPage web sites.
Without fail, every time I make edits to my site using FrontPage it causes the extensions on the server to become corrupted -- I can generally make only 1-2 edits before this happens and I then receive a message indicating that "The connection with the server was unexpectedly reset." When I contact support, I wait 30-90 minutes for a rep and they walk me through several troubleshooting steps that I have already done (but I understand it is part of their routine and try to be patient while we get to the real issue). Once we reach the point where it is obvious there is a problem with the FrontPage extensions, the customer service rep tells me that he cannot assist me, rather needs to hand me off to a *specialist* who will contact me once the issue is resolved. So after an hour or more, I am nowhere. 12-72 hours later I get an e-mail from a rep telling me everything is fixed and I should be able to access and edit my site. I can -- for 1-2 edits like before and then the same thing happens, and round and round we go... All this to make a few simple edits to my web site.
They have a big issue with their Windows servers and recently tried to resolve these with an upgrade (June 2006), but this has actually made it worse. As a *workaround* until they can resolve the issues, they suggest publishing instead of realtime editing. This works, but I don't consider this to be an acceptable long term solution (this has been 8 months now) -- why on earth would I want to go backward from a realtime environment to publishing? Their promotional information claims that they support FrontPage for publishing and realtime editing. Obviously they have a ways to go on that.
Due to their lack of FrontPage support and unsatisfactory customer service, I would advise anyone using FrontPage for their web site to look elsewhere. I recently purchased an account with another host and will be moving my sites as time permits.

They used to be great, but since they were bought out it has been a rapid decline. THey change thier policies without notifying customers. I had developed a business app that required remote connections. It worked great until one day readyhosting no longer allowed remote connections. They even lost my database & linked up someone elses to my account. I would like to give them a big FU. Don't torture yourself by using them.

I have been a Readyhosting customer for at least 6 years. Like one other reviewer, I think they USED to be fine, but now with the company buyout it is a complete nightmare. I have had a problem with every one of my 5 websites that were migrated. I had to go in and modify my database connections to make them work.. no big deal, but I could see that a weak attempt was made by somebody at RH to fix it themselves... modifying MY CODE without my knowing it! And 4 days ago, one of my sites went offline completely. They say that they couldn't migrate it, so I should contact M&A. M&A has no record of it! The site is just simply GONE, lost, deleted, forgotten.. who knows, but I quite! Right now in the process of moving all my sites to a new host. Maybe Readyhosting can do a good job after they get settled in under this new management, I dont know, but for me... Im finished with them.

The worst of the worse - zero tech suport other then form letters. Frequent, as in daily, site outages. Email down constantly. Recent migration by Endurance International, the new owners, a complete disaster!

I was with these guys for 5 years. It was not "the best" but it was decent hosting service until it was sold. Now, it is NIGHTMARE. And it is reality. These guys should be kicked-out from business. My sites didn't work at all when they change the platform. My DB on all sites (6) were practicaly destroyed. Their so callad Support is JOKE. They do not know anything about the hosting services and they won't help you. You are in deep trouble with Readyhosting. Run from them. Do not wait.
Sorry guys. I'm still angry.

I heartily concur with the comments regarding poor service, canned answers, and domain management.
The transition back in January 2006 was a nightmare. I hosted over 15 sites with them and every single one had a transition problem.
During this time, I became so dis-enfranchised, I struggled to move my domain management to GoDaddy, so if needed, I could move customers to a new host. Each request for domain unlocking was a long give and take ticket of "why don't you love us", "what can we do to help", blah-blah-blah.
Even when told directly what they could do to keep my domain business, they were unable to provide support.
My current crisis is with my own reseller account that's been down or not responding every day for the last 10 or 11 days. Could have been sooner as I don't check the site every day (Until now).
I've now grown accustomed to begging for assistance. I even tried the personal approach by calling, but I became so red-in-the face angry, I couldn't control my thought processes to work through the problem.

I have been with Readyhosting for many years. It was originally a Wisconsin company. Late last year, it was purchased by a company that is buying hosting company customers (e.g. the entire companies) and creating "cookie-cutter" hosting sites out of them.
After the switch to the "new platform" the issues have been constant, their so-called tech support awfull, and they have sunk to the lowest levels of the worst hosts that exist.
If you try to email their tech support, expect to get canned answers that are selected from a list of possible phrases. You ask a specific question? They won't even read, aknowledge, or answer the question, just a canned answer that the person on the other end thought was as close as possible to the question.
Ridiculous.
And if you have a SQL Server DB, don't go there. They have MyLittleAdmin, and it is supposed to allow you to backup and restore your database. Doesn't work. Their excuse is that they cannot allow users to do this, since it will cause security issues.
I guess their DBA hasn't ever heard of granting the user db_owner privs on their own database only. Can't argue with them, even if you are a college educated DBA with many years of experience.
Goodbye Readyhosting, Good Riddance.
Stay away from this company!

Readyhosting, I would have never guessed I would have been better off using a free service. They are a complete joke and that is about the nice thing I can say about them.
There service is non-existent. I can honestly say I never had a problem or question they could answer. It was amazing to learn how bad their service department is.
What takes the cake, after I finally cancelled all my accounts they continued to charge me even though I wasnât even hosting a domain with them! The told me they where providing me a services and could not credit my account for the time between when I cancelled my account and called back to see why they were still charging my credit card. The lady told me in a smug voice that they had been providing me a services, when I asked what service? Since I didnât even have a domain on file with them, she told me âwell I donât know that is your problem!â
Also their up time guarantee is a joke as well, my site was down for 5 days straight! It is pretty hard to have 99.9% uptime when your site goes down for days at a time.
If you own stock in this company sell! NOW, consider yourself warned!

When Webhosts are "acquired" by investment firms, customers should run fast and far

Readyhosting was recently bought out by "Endurance International Group," which is an acquisition company (translate: investment group) that has made its commodity to be webhosting. Don't allow that to make you believe that Endurance International is capable of running a datacenter or providing adequate customer support--so far my experience is that they can do neither.
With 50+ websites hosted with ReadyHosting, you would think that they would care that I'm upset. You'd think they would have resolved problems. You'd think that technicians would actually answer support requests instead of leave them unanswered for days or close them without resolution.
But no. They aren't doing anything to make my life any easier. Since the buyout and transition, I've had sites go down, technicians close tickets that aren't resolved, tickets merged or moved within my control panel without telling me.
Buyer beware. As of this writing, they can't figure out how to make the control panel do what it's supposed to--I can't turn on FrontPage extensions, even though the panel has a button to do so. I can't make the statistics update regularly, even though it's supposed to.
Endurance International has not demonstrated any competence in running a Windows hosting platform. ASP sites do not maintain session state, logging clients out regularly and consistently. Technicians continued to tell me the problem would be resolved, even though upper level techs knew that it wouldn't be resolved.
The latest trial is that they appear to be holding fourteen domains hostage, refusing to unlock them for transfer to another host. I put in a request for them to be unlocked over 72 hours ago, and while techs have looked at the ticket, the domains are still locked--even though I'm listed as the admin contact and have provided all of the username/password information as requested.
PowWeb users--beware, you're next to be 'migrated' to this datacenter. Don't let their promises of enhanced service, increased stability, or improved security fool you.
Endurance International Group is not a webhost--they are an investment group. Run far and run fast.
That's my experience and advise. I realize that your mileage may vary. I was with this company for over 5 years...while the old ReadyHosting had its warts and problems, the new ReadyHosting is just plain ugly.
