Yeras ago I used to host with them. Great service, friendly peopl, I knew alomost everyone working in sales or support on a first name basis. Fastforward to today. I have a new website and I naturaaly thought of them to host it. I called last week EVERY day at least 5TIMES each day trying to get a hold of someone in Sales. Each time, I was on hold for at least !) mn before I gave up. THEY NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE!!! I thougt may be the 800 number is no good so I sent them emails. NO ANSWER. I finally was able to reach someon in supoort who assured me that it was a misunderstanding. I asked where the call center was located ....INDIA. How can you help me with my server issue from India??? Do I get to talk drectly with the tech if needed??? NO Since WE ANSWER THE PHONE 9 don't laught !!1) There is no need for you to talk with the tech. we will do the liaison.

It was a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day... And they didn't make it any easier...
I think I'll move my site to Australia...
I can't imagine worse support. First they kill all the emails that exist on the hosting plan when they changed the MX record. (Something that ONLY they can do... Not changeable from the CP) then they blamed me. They said that they could restore it and that it would soon be back up and working.
24 hours later, the emails are still missing but the address book is back... for the time being.
They then inform me that they can't get the emails back because they already did a restore. "It now more than 24 hour." Says the tech rep on the other side of the phone. His english is broken and he tends to answer my technical questions with things like. "Yes that is true." when I asked how long it would be before I could get the emails back.
I finally asked to speak with his supervisor. (Who mysteriously isn't available) I tell him to take my number so that he can call me when he is off of his phone call. After getting my number wrong, he assures me that I will be called shortly by his supervisor...
I'm still waiting.
I recommend Blue Host to anyone who reads this. Reliable, and when I have a need for support, (Rarely happens), it comes quickly from someone who knows what a DNS record is and who speaks clear English.

I can't see any reason to stick with these people I'm recommending to my clients that they jump ship as quick as possible... BEWARE!

For many years I used ReadyHosting to host numerous websites. A couple of years ago, they started to slide down hill (new owners I understand) and my guess is that they are near bottom.

Two telling comments.
1. I have been trying to cancel with them since October and they are still billing me although the assure me that the account has been canceled.

2. Their pricing is horrendous. For what it costs to host one domain with ReadyHosting, you can host an unlimited number of domains with 1and1,IXWebhosting or many many others.

I have used this host for maybe 8 years? Been a long time whatever the year count. Loved them in the beginning - great features, great price, reasonable service.

Last year, apparently they got bought by another company. A huge move was announced and handled poorly on their part. Services that had been available were discontinued without warning. Email died. Sites went down and stayed down for days. I lost a lot of respect from my customers when I told them that I expected the email server would be up soon - but it wasn't - time and time again.

The final straw was when my personal site was renewed (when I say "renewed", I mean that in "market speak" only) last year. As part of the standard agreement - at least up until last year - they would renew the domain as was part of the original and, heretofore, unquestioned agreement.

What ensued was a complete clusterf*ck where no one could tell me why my domain wasn't renewed as had been the agreement for years, how I could get to the domain records to bring them back up, after I hunted down the registrar, how I could access the DNS records with a password that apparently RH had created and used, or even begin to go about restoring my services either at RH or elsewhere. Long story short, I eventally renewed ANOTHER domain that was listed and maintained by me to at least receive email. BTW, when responding to me via email, they used the old non-existent (according to their records) email address to send me updates - regardless of the carefully worded help desk ticket that I sent them outling the entire problem AND how to contact me.

I currently am moving over all my clients to a more reliable, responsive, and robust host as they expire.

One renewal caught me completely by surprise this past week, which is why I happened to visit their site recently. I received no notification of pending charges to my account as I had/have for the previous several years. Not sure the domain has been renewed. (Will check as soon as I get done tapping this review - I suspect there will be several weeks of frustration trying to straighten out THAT problem if they have not renewed the domain again.

None of my sites are major forces, but the clients scream just the same when their site is down.

I would NEVER, EVER recommend this host to anyone in the near future.

I have used Readyhosting for years for various sites and had great service. However in the past year the service has been down right horrible. One of my personal sites has been down twice in the past week. First level service was unable to help, no fies had changed, second level support got it back up but stated that it was a "temporary issue" as the cause and would not elaborate. Now the site is down again and the ticket has been reopened and escalated once again. Here is the transcript from using their chat online on the first try (then did it by phone) (names have been erased to protect the innocent and guilty) -

M.A.: Hi C. My name is M, how are you today?
C.X.: Hello M
C.X.: I am having a critical issue
C.X.: My website [mywebsite].com is down once again
C.X.: this happened saturday and now has happened again
M.A.: Currently we are experiencing issues with our internal tools because of which are unable to assist you further. We will surely look into it during your next contact. Please contact us after some time.
C.X.: ?????
C.X.: this is a critical system down issue
M.A.: Contact us after 30 minutes
M.A.: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
C.X.: are you able to get this call to a tech who can work the issue as soon as your tools come back online???
C.H.: last time they had to escaleate the call to a second level tech for solution
M.A.: I cannot assist you now. Please contact after some time.
C.X.: this is the second time in less than a week that I have had a critical down on our site.
M.A.: I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
C.X.: pleas have someone call me asap then at xxx-xxx-xxxx as soon as your system tools come up
M.A.: We cannot call you.

Needless to say I was awestruck by the brush off and will definitely not be using them in the future and will be migrating my sites away from them.

When your site is up everything is fine but the moment your site goes down do not expect a real answer or ETA. They read off of forms just to get you off of the phone and take forever to fix problems. Most of the time when they fix a problem they break something else.

I canceled my two accounts with ReadyHosting in December of 2005. Yet I was charged for both accounts in January 2007. I’ve been in a dispute with them since and it is the middle of April.

Each time that I call customer service, there is at least a 10 minute wait time. Once I do talk to someone, they have not ability to help me because they “have no authorityâ€. It is like talking to a wall. They have to pass the issue to billing.

Billing then takes about 2 days to respond with a generic response that is less then useless that is far from what was discussed with the customer service representative.

So the process starts again. I call customer service and wait on hold for at least 10 minutes, then speak with a customer service representative that has no authority. So the issue is passed back up to billing. It is a viscous circle that takes about 1 week to complete.

ReadyHosting’s customer service has always been sub-par, and recently is has been horrible.

My next step is filling a billing dispute with the credit card company.

I'm concurring with the rest of the reviews about the migration nightmares.

RH was pretty good until they were sold to a new company.

My database was lost/wiped out during the migration to MACOMP and RH cannot prove that they are not at fault. No records for tracking what happend, no backups.

I am not satisfied with MAComp either. Both the RH and MA accounts are getting cancelled

I agree with the other reviews. Readyhosting used to be the best bang for the buck hosting for Cold Fusion/SQL Server. Now that they are managed by another company - the service is just awful. I could go on and on about why they are bad - but it's everything! Stay away from this web host!!!
