email is still down, 3 days now, they have not updated their equipment and cant cope with the amount of customers they have. they cannot tell me when it will be repaired. i will be moving hosts today.

LunarPages moved my site to a server in a different city on September 12, 2008. I do not know how long it has not been unavailable but I suspect 5-6 day. NO email for 6 days got me to check. IP lookup says DNS is broken. From their site -- The domain could not be found. It is either not registered through Lunarpages or cannot be accessed at this time. Service is polite and quick but is not fixing the problem. I don't think they really do not know how to fix the problem.

I am very disappointed about the very poor replies I receive from the Email Online support. At least the replies used to be presented in a clear list. Now sentences are are thown into a wild blog. The telephone support is nil. The staff makes little effort to understand the questions, respond adequately by email and it is getting worse.
I am not able to do any decent business with such back-up and I am resigned to just concentrate on the sites hosted with other companies instead. Lately, my site opened in the wrong add-on site. Then I was blamed for not using the CPanel properly in conjunction with Dreamweaver and I received no positive help. I also became very depressed when I read the tutorial on Outlook Express. It has not been updated for a long time and, unless you have time to spend hours reading unrelated old information, I cannot think of a worse scenario for anybody who needs support.

These guys were the best when I signed up four years ago. Now they can't even deliver email reliably. They had a server failure several weeks ago they appear to still be resolving.
Customer support is bad. You have to run three separate logins depending on whether you want customer support, access to your site or renew payments. Guessing they sold the company, outsourced or had high turn-over.
I can't afford to use these guys anymore. There website uptime maybe 98--somthing but emails is probably 60% uptime.

Getting worse daily

Been with them 6 years.
They used to be great. Now they are terrible. They took our customer support forum offline because of "cycles" without warning. 24 hours later they have yet to respond to the issue. Their tech support is terrible. The notifications they send are unreadable as they do not use native English speakers for upper level support.
Support waits on the phone run to 15 minutes and then they do nothing. I miss the old lunarpages but now we will migrate.

I have used Lunarpages basic hosting for more than 5 months. The customer service staffs responded quickly to my technical questions.
There's had no server down up till now.
I am satisfied with their service.

Lunar Pages was GREAT. At one time. They now lack the customer service that earned our business. There are still a couple knowledgeable techs there, but they're very difficult to reach. Most support ticket responses are completely irrelevant to the topic. Of course, this is assuming you can get a response. My most recent support ticket is now more than 10 days old, with no resolve. Meanwhile, my business sits on hold.
What do they care though? My account is only good for $7 per month, and I've already paid.

Don't Fall For It!!!

1. Shared packages are WAY WAY oversold - 400G bandwidth? Try using all that without ever going over 1% CPU Usage. I have a little store, about 15 orders a day, and I exceeded that limit in 10 days, having only used 13GB of bandwidth.
2. They will disable your site without warning should you exceed that undisclosed CPU limit, send you a brief email in broken english basically saying that if you want your site back, you need to upgrade to a dedicated plan at $100+ per month.
3. If you're foolish enough to fall for that, like I did, you better have a sixth sense about servers - as in, your IP address appeared to you in a dream. The IP addresses in the welcome email were wrong. 2 days later that's fixed. The nameservers in the welcome email were wrong, nothing resolved correctly. 2 more days of headache. Need an SSL cert. 5 more days of headache. Oh, you can't send emails from your email client because you can only STMP through port 25, and your ISP probably blocks that - so many places (think Hotmail) will bounce your emails. And so forth, and so forth. Blech, blech, blech.
Transfered to a different host after 3 months - paying $14 a month for a shared account and no problems! Don't want to see anyone go through what we did!

The service answers very quickly to any kind of questions. It's a pity that their Windows plan doesn't support a Java Server.

lunarpages allows only 1% CPU usage

I used to be a loyal customer of lunarpages, until they suspended my site without warning. They they told me to upgrade to their $99 dedicated plan or $45 VPS plan or they won't help me. This is unfair and holding my company hostage!!!
The reason is because you are only allowed to use 1% CPU and I was using 3%, with "200-300 allowed per server". My site only has text and small jpgs, and I access MySQL about 6 times per minute with my simplemachines forum. When they claim 'unlimited' MySQL, its a lie.
The tech support ignored emails and was clueless to all my dumbed down technical questions when I called. Oh and I was put on hold for 20 minutes.
For the last 6 months (2nd half of 2007) I found my site down fairly often. When I ask, all they say is 'problem has been fixed'. But it happened all the time.
They also refused to transfer my site for me to the new plan, unless I pay an additional $50.
Don't get lunarpages, they used to be good but not anymore!!!
