About 5 years ago in 2003, they were pretty good. You paid your money, and they offered a breadth of services. Everything at least worked. Sure they host one or two sites that the Islamic Jihad owns but hey no one is perfect.
Well when they went to the new system, something went horribly wrong. While I never had to call them in the past, they really need tech support now. I set up a customer on IPower and all seemed fine, untill their e-mails went into routing loops. I pleaded with tech support to let me speak to their DNS admins, becuase their mail system was internally looping. Unfortunately all they could tell me was that they were working on it. E-Mails sent in march have finally arrived MID APRIL. I guess they fixed it.
In all steer clear of Ipowerweb. They are not what they once used to be.

IPower was fantastic for the first five years that I used them. Beginning in Fall 2007, there has been a severe degradation in their service, across multiple categories. There have been frequent outages of my websites; hours of hold-time, waiting for IPower customer service; days without FTP access; rude people who simply do not tell the truth and do not resolve the technical issues. I suspect that some of this may relate to their migration of websites to a new generation of servers, but both the migration porcess and the customer service have been absolutely terrible.

Used to be ok a few years ago, email always has problems, 1 hour wait for customer service/tech support for phone and online message. Try another place before this one.

This is the worst customer’s service company, they don’t care, the sql server has the worst performance, 3 months with issues and they are not able to fix it.

They were very reliable but since they went to the new platform…HORRIBLE! There tech support staff consists of a bunch of kids that could care less about your problems. Especially if they’re Windows or FrontPage related problems. Since the switch over all I do is call them for one thing or another. One thing starts working and some other feature breaks. Absolutely nothing works consistently from day to day. I’m now in the process of looking for a new company. One who actually like Windows base products and has a technical stall that can support them.

Other than when going through server upgrades and migration iPowerweb is stable with no noticeable downtime.
Tech support is good, but it takes so long to make contact on the phone and chat live. So, when there are issues it can be frustrating.
Occassionaly you do get through easily. When it happens it is a surprise.

I had two dedicated servers and I registered 2 domain names in ipower.
They gave me 4 accounts. And for each product that I bought, they provided 2 or 3 links for management.
To change billing information, I had to contact them and I got special url that I can change. But the next time, the url is gone.
CS calling waiting time is 30 minutes.
When I asked to reformat my server no. 1, they formatted server no. 2.
They did same thing for rebooting.
I deeply regret that I selected ipower, now I have to spend whole day to close my account in ipower.

If you like waiting hours on the phone to talk to tech support, iPowerWeb is the host for you. After waiting at least an hour and you like talking to someone who cannot do anything except forward your call to another person who does not help you, iPowerWeb is the host for you. If your website crashes and you like waiting several weeks for its resurrection, iPowerWeb is the host for you. If you like not being able to talk to any company executive about a problem (there are no numbers available), iPowerWeb is the host for you. If you like listening to the wrong solution and being transferred endlessly to the wrong department, iPowerWeb is the host for you. The best tech support I have ever received at iPowerWeb has been talking with an employee in sales who forwards me to someone who may be able to help. Good tech support at iPowerWeb does not exist. Employees are paid poorly, so almost all of the good workers eventually leave. Among the few employees (6) I have found during the past 8 years, all have resigned. There does not seem to be any plan to improve the quality of tech support; in any case, it has never improved. It has only worsened. The wait times have become ridiculous, and no one seems to care. Otherwise, iPowerWeb is a wonderful host.

We've had problems with Ipowerweb in the past, but they were usually resolved within 24 hours. Since their switch to the new server and new v-deck, we have not been able to get a response for several days. Our CGI forms no longer function correctly, although they work in test, and it took over 48 hours for a customer service rep to respond to the first query. It's now been another 48 hours and still no response. Our forum pages take several minutes to load on some days and load just fine as soon as I go to file a complaint. We're definitely considering moving all of our domains at this point.
