I have been with Rob for over 10 years. I have always had pretty good service. In the last month however, I have a log in which does not work for my site and no one responds to my urgent request for a password reset.
I was loyal until now. I have no choice but to look elsewhere.
DO NO USE HOSTCABIN ANY LONGER.

STAY AWAY!!!! Hostcabin has been horrible lately. You wait for days to get any service response.
They shut my site down and won't approve my domain name transfer to another registrar. It's been 8 days and they haven't even responded to the request.
FOLKS there are way too many other hosting companies that are cheap and provide great service.
Hostcabin is a one man operation. Don't be fooled!!!!

as soon as you pay, you will be ignored until the day you try to leave. then they switch domain ownership status and take any names they have "registered for you". in the end you're left with nothing but a bad taste of criminal in your mouth.

I have used HostCabin for years. They occasionally have problems, but they are reliable most of the time and have always helped me with any questions or problems. The price is good and they have all the features I need.

I have a reseller account with Rob. He tries hard but host cabin does not meet even my basic needs anymore. My sites are down constantly with no explaination. Activly searching for options. I am very loyal to a fault but can not stay with hostcabin anymore.

They are immature, disorganized and could care less

Here's the scoop, they are based in Indonesia and depending on the emotional situation the owner (Rob) is in, he either takes care of his customers or lets them suffer for DAYS with down or malfunctioning sites.
You can pay for IP addresses but, suddenly they are removed and there is no compensation given.
I recently had to move many of my sites on an emergency basis. In one situation all our logs were removed, sometimes the site or email was down for days and he didn't respond to "EMERGENCY" requests for help.
One of my sites went down every day for a month.
Today he shut down a site for "non-payment" but he had never billed me ... his billing system is a disaster.
And in the end he doesn't care.
Please .. spare yourself and don't use him!!!

I've used hostcabin for 4 or 5 years. Initially, they were very good. Then, over time their service got progressively poorer - ssh became useless because virtually every command was disabled. Servers got slower and slower, to the point I began looking for an alternative hosting co. But, a couple of months ago they installed new servers - after a week or two of disruption everything settled down and started working ok. By an large the servers are up. But, it remains to be seen if this is a long term improvement in the service.
