I currently have 5 domains parked at host department. Not hosted, I left that a long time ago, but my domains were locked and I could't move them. Now their control panel has been down for a long time. They took my money for renewal and never actually renewed my domain and I lost it. I can't move the remaining domains because they are locked and I can't reach anyone to unlock them. This isn't just bad hosting and server down time, this is a complete loss of my domains. Stay far far away, don't trust them with anything if you value it.

Host Dept is Crashing and Burning

The last few weeks they have been attacked and they are crashing. They don't answer the phone, don't reply to service tickets, and don't do live chat. Their service is variable and unreliable. I'm looking for another host.

I have been down two times in the past 2 months which initially appeared to be a defacement. I have customers that I resell this service to, and they are regular customers of mine. The first time, I was able to get in and fix my website. This time, however, FTP is down and there is no end in sight. I have been down for at least a week now, and nobody from Hostdepartment.com seems to want to keep my business any longer.
If you host with this company, or are planning on hosting with this company, do not be fooled by their great pricing unless you do not care to rely on them. I have never seen such shoddy customer service and downtime in a host. The defacements are embarrassing enough, but how do you explain this to your customers, over and over again?
FIND ANOTHER COMPANY, THESE PEOPLE ARE A FRAUD

This is the worst service ever being given by a webhost!! I have a reseller account hosting a number of websites under this plan. I often have issues with them with regards to website reliability, hacking issues into my clients sites and so on. However, this month has been the cherry on the cake. Websites, emails, databases, any sort of service has been down. I have companies left without email service in this day and age. Can you immagine?? Shameful! Completely crap. And you know what? They offered us a refund. Yeah my ass - $20 and just for me (as a reseller account). They did not offer me at least $15 per account i have hosted with them.
It's time to open a legal battle with them.

I have been with Host Department for almost a year. I have their "Unlimited" plan but ever since the beginning, I keep getting emails from them saying I am in violation and have to reduce my bandwidth, file size, or database size. No lately their servers keep going down ALL THE TIME!! Currently none of my sites are functional! At first I thought they were providing a great deal but now I know it is not worth it. I found a www RDOLLC com has a unlimited plan also and have not had any problems with them so far! Stay away from Host Department!!!

At moment was one month and the service continuous down, up for 2 or 3 ours by day.
The check pings successfuly, but the service dont run.
Its a poor provider, support dont exists.
Do beleave in this company.
Ofers miracles, but miracles dont exists, only bad services.
If the America were really serious country, the owners of hostdepartment should be in jail, because they offer a product and not deliver, this is a crime.
And how nobody does anything they continue to sell, they could not sell new accounts to solve their problems.
I do not know how the tests are made of "uptime", but certainly not show the truth, the "uptime" of hostdepartment currently is almost nothing. Is there a trick on their page that never opened and still not result in timeout. In the e-mails there is no fool, more than half of the day is timeout.
The hostdepartment is a best poor hosting service.

I have been trying to get in touch with them for 4 days now and they won't answer the phone, email, support tickets, or live chat. They have some major issue that has effected all of their servers and I guess they don't know how to fix it.
I would like to move my sites but I can't get in to change anything over and email is not working.
I don't know about you, but I can't afford to have my sites down for 4 days. My customers are so upset that I am losing most of them.
I think that Host Department owes me all of the money that I have paid them and all of the money that I have now lost from my clients, customers, and potential sales.

Not sure where Host Department went...

I don't use my site on their server for my main site any longer but I do store things on the server. I went to upload something and can't seem to locate the server - not even Host Department for that reason. My website is marked as a "bad site" with google on Host Department and I can't do anything about it since they are essentially gone. This is a URL that I forward to my main site so it's not critical but it's annoying.
I've checked every day - all day long for the past week and one time I got the main page to come up but couldn't log in - the server would time out.
They were great several years ago but I think they have gone down hill over the last year.

I have been with hostdepartment for years with a personal site and then added a business account. My website has been down 80% of the time for the last 2 weeks. The first day they promised it would be back up in 2-3 hours. 3 days later it came back up, but when down again that night and has been down every day for the last 2 weeks. All technical support has vanished
If they are repairing their systems, they should have a back up, but they dont, which tells me its a chop shop. They have expanded beyond their capabilites as witnessed by their inability to get the servers up and running.
I run an ecommerce site and they have caused considerable damage to my company and reputation. if anyone has a class action law suit going i will gladly join.
Signing up with hostdepartment is a GUARANTEE that your business and reputation will suffer.
