Sorry, but I don't have a lot of good to say about this company. The servers are very slow, as if bogged down by lots of users, not sure how they have configured things... I'm a Web Developer and have several clients websites hosted there under separate accounts (which is changing now), so I see the problems are consistent with all of the websites I have hosted there. The tech support is awful, the online chat system is a waste of time (I think they are servicing several people at once). Usually they just end up creating a ticket. The escalated tech support is even worse... you may be corresponding with 3 or 4 different people on one ticket and all of them are at different stages of the ticket (not in any particular order either - they are all over the map), you'll be explaining your situation to each of them and by the time it's all done, you will be more confused than any of them. This isn't just a one time situation, it occurs every single time a ticket is created.
The email servers are often screwed up, sometimes for days... it's a mess.
The value isn't great either, it doesn't matter that the price is low... if you pay anything at all, it's not really going to be worth the frustration.

My email account stopped working. All emails to me were rejected and lost. They couldn't fix it and I couldn't talk to or correspond with Tech. Online chat is worthless for tech. They just create ticket. Then it takes 3 days for tech to get around to fixing. Online chat is offshore, tech is on moon??
Can you tell I am frustrated? I just cancelled and they charge $35 to terminate.

Someone got into our files and hacked our scripts, which is interesting because we don't believe anyone in our company would do so nor has the ability to do the hack.
We heard that Globat was compromised in Oct 2008, if so we've never heard about it.
Globat's service has not been good, either.

Watch out when researching a good host provider. You may see some good reviews but be warned these reviews can be hosted by that company. When I did my research years ago, Globat looked pretty good. Ever since then they started going downhill. Aside from downtime, my webpage was susceptible to viruses and weird text on the webpage. My contract is up next year but already switching over to HostGator. Good ridance Globat!

Customer service is horrible; and all 10 of my sites have been down on an off since May. I was told they had a problem with one of there servers and I should upgrade to one of their newer servers. Can you believe that. Baiscially what they are saying is you get what you pay for. I am searching for a new host, but I realize as I read the reviews there is not prefect host.

Globat's service is very unreliable. I have found my website down a number of times and I am sure, given the reviews I have found from other individuals, it is down more often than I can check up on. Before I signed up with them, I had read some positive things in some review sites. After I started having problems with my site being down, I did more research and found heavy criticism. I have never had issues with billing, however, I wish I had known about the technical problems before I signed on. The bottom line is, though, I pay for my site to be hosted 24x7x365. I am not getting that. No matter how good my website is, it is of no value if it is not accessible to my potential clients. My contract is up in a few months. I already am setting up a site elsewhere. I will not renew with Globat. My site is again currently down and the technical support team refuses to answer my questions as to why. They refer me to their FAQ. Funny- I can't find the question about what to do when you continuously don't get the service you paid for in good faith. I wonder if the Attorney General's department of consumer complaints and fraud would have the answer to that question!

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. It started out okay. They had real 24/7 support and was perfect for the guy who wanted to hose a couple static webpages. When you start growing and add message boards and blogs to your site, it is a miserable experience, though.
The support staff are call takers. Under no circumstance can you talk to someone who might be able to help you. You have to wait days for an e-mail for that. If they don;t fix it the first time, you have to wait days for a response. Terrible.
They also pull this little scam of charging your credit card for "upgrades" every 30 days unless you catch each e-mail and opt-out of the upgrade. That's right, if you don't catch the e-mail for their monthly promotion, you get charged without your consent. Nice huh?

Getting Better

The first year you get to add on 10 domains for free. The year after each domain is $1 a month. It was work getting my free domins the first year because the software on their site di not allow it. So, you would have to get charged and make time consuming calls to get your $12 yearly charge back. I did get it back always via burnout.
They have had issues of slowness and major down time.
Getting good tech support can be challenging.
BUT, underneath it all there is something positive that can work out. I had trouble with my shared SSL that comes free. Lack of technical knowledge seemed the issue would not be resolved. But, after a week someone was persistant enough to get me to me with the matter resloved.
You do have to be aware of advertising via email and their popups. If you stay clear you won't get caught paying for something you may not want.
Today their servers seem stable and fast. I presently have 1 main site with 9 other domains, that are like subdomains, but have the appearance as regular www.yourdomain.com.
