EarthLink technical support is horrible and useless. Aboslutely poor listening and analytical skills. They just keep telling me to wait 24-72 hours. I'm currently looking for another webhosting/ecommerce service provider.

We have a fairly simple site, but depend heavily on it for credibility of our company. EarthLink took our site down almost immediately after it went up for "windows issues". They put a different site up in its place, and have not put our original site back up.
Their technical support staff is rude and untrained; I have been passed from person to person, and the finger pointing is unbelievable.
We spend nearly $300 per month with EarthLink. They clearly don't care about us, and subsequently, we don't care about them either.
MY ADVICE...DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE SALE, AND AREN'T INTERESTED IN SERVING EXISTING CUSTOMERS...AND I'VE HAD EARTHLINK AT HOME SINCE 1998....SIGNED SOON TO BE A FORMER CUSTOMER!

i have been trying to get a domain and hosting package set up for the past 6 months with earthlink. they have been unable to resolve the domain in all this time. i have spoken with numerous people on the phone and sent numerous emails trying to resolve the issue. each person has a different story about why it is not working and what i should do to fix it. i've asked that they stop charging me until it is resolved -- but they have been charging me each and every month (over $150) even though i have not been able to ftp files to my site or even see it working at all.
on the phone, i get passed around from person to person and often sit on hold for 30 minutes only to hear that the person who finally answers can't help and i need to go back into the loop.
one online tech person asked me to talk to him via live chat - when i tried to open chat my earthlink DSL crapped out as it does everyday.
i am currently looking for alternatives and will leave earthlink.
