Canaca.com Web hosting Plan used: Bronze, Then Gold
I can not believe i was drunk enough to sign up with them. I mean, think for yourself

10gigs of disk space & 200 gigs of bandwidth? Not even a charity can offer such prices.

They are probably overselling like crazy.

So anyway, I signed up for the bronze plan..3 month period. Their FTP has always been disgusting & repulisvely slow from beginning to end. When I tried to install a users Online script on my website, I realized they pulled a dirty trick on me.
No Mysql databases!
WTF!

I upgraded to the gold plan & setup my script. When I myself used to access the website, 1 out of 6 times there used to be a 500 Internal Server Error. Many visitors reported this too.

Then Began the downtimes. At first there was an enormous 7 hours downtime. I was furious, the next morning. I sent them an email demanding an explanation (at this time my site was still down. In about 2 hours my site was back up. They sent me a reply

"Your site is back up & working fine."

Thats it. No explanation of why there was such a long downtime. & to think they offer a 98% uptime guarantee? Ha, another lie.
I decided to let it go

2 days, nothing happened. Site was going okay except for the 500 Internal Server Errors. On the 3rd day my website was down for 2 hours again. Then for the following week, there used be regular downtimes, almost on alternate days..each downtime aproximately for a period of 3 hours.

I sent them a stern email, warning them of consequences if this would continue. They said they moved my account to a more 'stable' server & I dont have anything to worry about. I didn't believe this, but decided to give this a go to.

There was 100% uptime for the next 1 week.
Then the downtime routine restarted.
I was so sick of this, i quit miday after aproximately 35 days without getting any sort of refund.

Heres a notable experience with their customer support.
I'd written to them regarding excessive spam in my inbox. This was contradictory to their plan features description. They claim to offer 'very high spam protection'. Most of the spam was from known pornsites & such which could have easily been blocked.
Heres the response i recieved

"This is not considerd an emergency by our standards. Open another ticket & dont reply to this email"

Isn't that a sweet way to say
"fuck off, we dont care"??



Also, to all the people who write beautiful reviews about canaca...You may not know of your site downtime. Sign up with a website monitoring service like internetseer, atwatch or get a small script to check for you from your own computer if you have always on conncectivity. I'm sure most of you would have very different views about Canaca after that

Conclusion- Stay far far away from this company. It is better to host your website out of your own computer with dual operating systems rather than suffer untold attrocities with this horrible hosting company. They are obvious liars & have utter disregard for your website & bussiness.
