I don't even know where to begin, they're so bad.

First of all, if you read any posts by ex-employees, they say many of the managed dedicated servers aren't even truly dedicated. This would explain why they continually crash due to hundreds upon hundreds of spammer SMTP requests. (Blacklisted IP's, here we come!) Oh, and ex-employees also say these dedicated boxes are actually pared down low-end Dell desktops, which is why the hardware (hard drives, CPUs, and fans totally go out beyond recovery).

I've gone through multiple hard drive and hardware crashes with my "pretend" managed dedicated server. It's been down for days before, as in multiples of 24 hours. And, despite Mike Roberts' claims of being monitored, the only monitor on this box has been ME.

Yes, 24/7, you must be dedicated (more than the server itself) to checking and making sure the server is up, because it will be a cold day in hell if the techs ever bring a downed server back without being told - by YOU - that it's down.

And you better not hold your breath, because your trouble tickets may not get answered for a day or more, and you'll spend hours on hold before you can talk to a receptionist - NOT a tech - who will turn around and hand off your problem to a tech you'll never get to speak with.

You'll be put on hold, disconnected, lied to outright, and basically told to shove it when things get bad. You'll be sold services that don't exist, hear impossible explanations for why their equipment fails, and asked to pay ridiculous prices to upgrade to services and equipment sub-par with the industry JUST to keep your web sites up and running. And for this privilege they will bill you, religiously, even AFTER you cancel. Even the Terminator isn't that dedicated to taking you money.

Uptime guarantee? Tech support? Real servers? Monitoring? You have to be kidding. You aren't going to find it at AIT.

You're a hostage. You're ripe for the picking. And, if you have a brain, you'll run away from AIT like the hounds of hell were at your heels.

Think of the most profane and obscene word to describe them, multiply it times ten, and you still haven't come close.

AIT is perfect for your kids school project, with a half life of ten days. If you're in business, AMF.

For the last 6 months I have had to call at least twice a week and bring to their attention that my sites were down. They are the ones that offer the plan I have which offers unlimited virtual host and 99.99% uptime but had the nerve to tell me if I wanted better service and no down time I needed to pay more money and switch to a dedicated server. Unless you don't mind finding your clients sites down and having them complain to you and in turn upon calling AIT you have an extremely high stress level, stay away from AIT. With time I gaurantee you will be looking for another hosting company and will have to go through the pain of transferring everything.

I am not someone who complains alot but AIT has been incredibly bad. The site has been down 3 times in the 3 months that I have been with them. I made the mistake of thinking they would realize it and it stayed down for an entire night until I called. The site would not pull up 1 time with out www in front on with the url minus the www. They repeatedly told me the service was working. I had to submit 5 tickets before someone called and "I" figured out that the site would work with www. Horrible

I've had four weeks of living Hell from AIT trying to keep our company's email working.

Thank heavens, I've just gotten approval to sign up for a new provider to take over our hosting. A seven-hour (and counting!) outage today is the straw that broke the camel's back. After repeated attempts and promises to keep us on line by their CIO, I've simply given up.

Our firm, as well as me personally, have been a loyal client of AIT's for at least eight years. In the past year or so, their reliability and service have really declined significantly. I echo the criticisms of others regarding AIT's long telephone hold times, uninformed help desk staff, and techs that unable to really fix things.

Worst of all, it seems that when their email service is interrupted, messages directed to us simply vanish into cyberspace with no warnings or SMTP errors to the senders. Many times we've been unaware that the service is down until one of our clients calls, wondering why we didn't respond to their messages. As you might expect, this has been horrific for our business.

Don't be pulled in by AIT's reasonable prices or that they provide Windows IIS website hosting (which actually seems reliable).

From all appearances, this firm is on the ropes! It'll be a happy day for me when I click the button to terminate service.

We were hosting a major school system website through AIT. The site also has subdirectories that hold individual schools' and individual departments' websites.

We also had been with AIT for a number of years starting when they were small, personal and eager to build their business. The last year or two they have become less and less reliable. We attempted to transfer the site to a different server on the AIT sytem for various reasons. Big mistake.

We ended up being offline almost as much as we were online. This was simply unacceptable for a number of reasons, including students using the site for homework assignments and grades, parents using the site for food payments, schedules, and news such as weather information. Teachers and administrators attempting to communicate to their various audiences. The worst was when we had a security scare. The site was down, AIT could not be bothered to push the site up the list of problems. We had nearly a thousand calls from panicked parents. Thankfully, the incident did not turn into a Columbine. Thanks for all the help on that one AIT.

AIT has become essentially unreachable. Their hold buttons cut you off, and this after waiting 30-40 minutes to talk to Tech Support. After finally getting to Tech Support, we've found they are not well trained. They do not understand, or take the brief moment of time to try to understand problems. We've moved our site to another hosting company and now expect AIT will try to come after us for payment. They have lawyers. So do we. It's called non-performance.

Don't use AIT.

Started doing business with AIT in 2002. The company was small, personal and quite responsive. They enabled me to start my online business. Had many features to offer and everything seemed reasonable for a beginner.

Starting in 2004 - 2005 everything seemed to go down hill. My shared hosting was unreliable and down time was horrible. They told me that I should upgrade to a dedicated server at $99.00 a month and that would fix everything.

Well, I had no choice as I had built my 3 shopping carts with their proprietary MCART program and was technophobic about moving to another company.


I have been held hostage by this company for the past 2 years. Their "Free" MCART shopping cart was down more than it was up, I was losing significant money and the stress and anxiety about having to re-create 3 shopping carts from scratch had me losing many hours of sleep.

Of course their response was for me to "UPGRADE" to their $29.95 per month shopping cart and all of my troubles would be fixed. Yeah sure, x 3 = another $90.00 bucks a month


I paid for a "Managed" dedicated server $99.95 per month. My server IP was blacklisted by Verizon, AOL and MSN due to SPAM. They would not help me at all. Took 2 months for me to get a response from their abuse manager.

Run from this company as fast as you can. Everything they offer is outdated and unreliable. Their cPanel is their own, shooping cart is their own. Nothing is transferrable or portable. Once you sign up with them you will be a hostage.

It took 6 years of being screwed by this company to finally say enough is enough. I signed on with HostGator and they are incredible to say the least. Their shared reseller plan has better performance than my so called dedicated server from AIT and it is 1/3rd the cost.

In closing...Run from AIT. There are too many other companies to choose from.

THIS SERVICE IS DOWN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. SMART ASS TECHS THAT HANG UP ON YOU IF YOU COMPLAIN

This may be the worst company I have ever done business with. Their business strategy is to take customer money, lie about their services, oversell capacity and then churn customers while they overbill credit cards.

Listen to what you've read on this site and others. This is a company that should be prosecuted for fraud. They ripped me off -- sold me things they did not deliver -- and kept ripping me off until the moment I went to the trouble to switch hosts. It was well worth the trouble, as I have not had to file a trouble ticket -- not even one -- since switching. Tell everyone you know, AIT is a company that the Internet community should en masse put out of business. It's not just bad -- it is EVIL!
