Don't waste your money...my sites were down for over a week during the migration....TOTALLY UNSAT!! Now they are down again...They suck!!

We were migrated last Friday morning, without any warning and have been down ever since. We have companies that rely on our applications to run their businesses. Webhost4life is absolutely the worst company that I've run across in the past 25 years of IT business.
Please do not use this company and if you are currently, get your stuff and run.

These guys don't have a clue... Stay away

We have been with webhost4life for years. The reliability of their service was really good up until this buyout / transition. We had a dedicated server paying over $400 a month to have it, and earlier this month they decided to switch it to the new platform. Good Luck. They never notified us of the transition, and then did it one night abruptly right before a weekend.
It was down for over a week, and we called, left support tickets, and more and obviously it is not their priority to support their customers anymore. We have a number of customers that depend on the sites we host, and we can't get ther information to them. We can no longer manage our server because they have obviously put it in an environment with port blocking and more and have no idea how to manage that on their network.
Our sites never come up, and it looks like they have a backbone hooked to a cable modem or something. The speed and reliability of the connectivity is rediculous. Their ridiculous 99.9% up time is more like 99.9% downtime. Live support is a joke... I could go ask someone on a street corner and get a better answer. Forget talking to a manager, because they don't exist, and there is no way to contact them other than the information they give. Stop payment on your pay source or close your account, because they will try to take your money even when you don't stop your services.
We host nearly 20 websites and other products with them, and as of next week, all of our business is going elsewhere. Don't trust any of the claims or anything they do.

WH4L have been taken over by criminals

These people should be jailed for the amount of heartache they have caused the last 2 months.
The migration occurs without notification and has not once worked. Now.. they wont even flip you back to the old system.
They use to be a great company but the new owners are criminals. I have no choice but to leave. The helpdesk is run by absolute muppets who copy/paste pre prepared answers which make no sense to any question you actually ask.
They are beyond incompetant.. if they had a local office I would have gone postal along time ago. These guys are absolute thieves... they are the worst company I have ever dealt with in any industry my whole life.
They deserve to go more than bankrupt. Do not go with this company and if you are with them leave right now... they are not capable of doing anything correctly.. they haven't resolved even the most basic of help desk requests.

Worst hosting ever

WORST experience ever when they do the migration for all my sites. (NOTE: I am a VPS user. I am paying over $200/month including all the DBs and sites.) Nothing works...I mean NOTHING. After the migration, emails, all my sites, FTP...nothing works. It took me 4 freakin days just to get my FTP logins to retrieve my backups preparing to move to another server.
Their support is the worst I could ever possibly seen. They don't know what they are doing, throwing the ball around and make you wait. I really don't understand why they are like this unless they do it purposely.
I went to another host after I got my FTP logins and I am glad that I made a quick decision to move. It is such a waste of time dealing with those guys.
SOME TIPS DEALING WITH WEBHOST4LIFE. You have to yell at them. Yell until you get what you need. I called over 10 times a day. Just keep yelling at them otherwise I am sure you won't get what you need. Don't trust those tickets and live chat. (All useless) You have to CALL.
****My advice. Change to another hosting right now. You CANNOT find any hosting provider worst than webhost4life.

As others have said,
I had about 15 domains hosted on their server for past 8 years, all came down crashing on August 20th, 2010 after they migrated my sites to so called new platform, their support sucked, No email notifications about migrations or anything. My sites only showed server errors. They are not a reliable host anymore.
Please Stay away from them.

I had been a customer of WH4L for four or five years--I had at least a dozen different accounts with them. They had a good collection of ASP components, and their control panel was well suited for accounts that needed to host multiple domains together. Like any host, they had a glitch every now and then, but they were pretty good and I was a fan.
However, at the beginning of this year, all that changed. We were told of a "migration" to a new platform, which really translated into their being bought. The new platform did not include all of the components that I had before and relied upon. I couldn't get statistics split out among multiple domains on one account. I couldn't get remote access to a MySQL database. Some of those ASP components weren't there.
After talking with the support team (and man, were they poor!), I found that there was no way around any of this. It was how things were going to have to be. I asked them to just leave me on the old platform until my subscriptions ended, but they said that was not an option.
For some of my smaller accounts, I'd be able to use their platform, so I worked on getting them migrated over. None of them ever got to the point where they were working on the new platform perfectly. Meanwhile, I found a different host for the other accounts. As I was moving sites either to my new host or the "new WH4L platform", WH4L would often just change my pointers to the new platform without warning, causing the site to go down immediately. They would change things back once I called them and asked, but this happened repeatedly. I couldn't get my sites to the new host fast enough!
So here is the kicker, and why I call them dishonest. We pay for their hosting a year in advance. When this occurred on the old system, we had to check a box that said we agreed to the terms and services. Those terms do say that we can cancel at any time and get a full pro-rated refund for time not used. I've spent several months trying to get my money out of WH4L with little success so far. They have refunded about a third of what they owe me, but they point to their "new" terms & conditions and try to charge me things like cancellation fees. They also renew accounts (and charge my card) after I cancel them.
The new owners are dishonest and should be avoided at all costs. Some of their documentation refers to them as being Readyhosting.com, so I think you should stay away from them too.

You get what you pay for

At $9.95/month for the MS advanced plan you get a lot of features for the money. However our sites go down almost every other week from changes and monkeying they are performing on their servers. Our sites did go down after the un-announced migration but were back up for a few weeks. We did not do any work on them and now they've been down for 4 days so far. Support is polite when you do talk to them but it seems like they're in over their heads on this. Also was told that if you add a comment to your support ticket you get moved to the back of the queue. Am either going to have to pony up to a $50/month plan somewhere else or just wait this out and hope my clients don't complain too much.

same here guys - site is down at least once a week since the "platform upgrade" in april - my site has been down hundreds of times since then, and even for 5 days at one point! AND I HOST OTHER CLIENT SITES AND RUN A BUSINESS THAT IS LOOSING BECAUSE OF IT!! Support is useless, they might as well tell us all to go $%&! ourselves, because that is what you do to yourself by staying with webhost4life. Their support will even tell you that the problem is on your end when it clearly is not, just so they can pass the buck. Seriously the worst hosting ever. Nothing is changing for the better - I'm forced to transfer hosts and doing it right now!

Please , do not ever use these guys. They are so bad it makes me want to cry,...literally.
I got thrown in with these guys when I started with my new company as a web developer. From day one I have had significant amounts of downtime, errors, and unexplained problems with these SOB'S
I'm guessing that part of the whole Migration process has been what has been causing these problems. I told them about the problems and said they so manually fix them and they put me on manual migration. Like I should do my own migration. They sell their company and I am the one resposible for my own migration ?
I could believe it.
I have used over five different hosts and this one opened my eyes to what bad hosting is. I love how people like to bash larger places like godaddy. They need a good dose of Webhost4life to know what truly bad hosting is like.
