After trying to receive help through their "help" forum my post kept getting edited and deleted. I then ask for a refund and to cancel my account. Below is the email I rec'd from them. Nasty scumbags. I have reported them to the FCC and you should too!

They have no phone support. You try to get help by adding a post to a forum but you still may not get any help. You can then submit a support a ticket but sometimes they don't anwser the ticket at all. If you need quick assistance and can spare to wait a week or two for a response then you may not have a problem. They have good webbuilding programs but you better not need any support.

I would take my credit card information away from these people... But it's not possible. They simple refuse to do it. Once you are their customer it's not possible to terminate the deal (not even if you let them keep the money you've already paid). Scary.

You won't see my site online, because of Voda. My lawyers are busy getting the money back from Voda right now, for they are breaking the law.
Voda promised "fanatical" support and customer "love" and care, affiliate "commissions", "reliable" hosting and at lest some "workable" web site managment interfaces and even a site builder.
In two years of my experience they did nothing of this kind.
What did they do in this writer's experience ?
1. NO SUPPORT. Their support is some sort of Nazi bunch of kapos who shout at you that you don't understand this and that, or pretending your English is no good for their staff. They didn't solve any issue for us in the period as reviewed.
2. NO COMMISSION. Their clocks register just-below-the-threshold affiliate traffic, and when they have to pay the 150 usd, the counter dies suddenly, and no matter how many of your affiliates pass through you, you are sure that you won't see the commission. When you demonstrate this fact to their personnel, they panic, they would call you on your mobile phone and start telling lies that even them find hard to believe. It's all on record.
3. NO RELIABLE UPTIME I have a log of downtime for my two sites. It's incredible how much off line their servers really "serve". They just keep rebooting them for "maintenance". Support will only tell you one thing, DON'T OPEN MORE TICKETS.
4. NO MEANS TO MEND THINGS, BY DESIGN. As for the interface. They change the root servers without noticing you, so that you find yourself offline when your own customers start complaining. Then they send you some arcane procedure for you to log, using three different passwords, only to "update" something here and there. In the meantime they keep you offline for days.
5. NO MEANS TO GET REFUNDS, BY DESIGN. OK, so how do you get rid of their "services" ? You can't. They remind you that your "billing cycle" expires in three years, so they keep your money while you get your site to some web host you can trust.
Welcome to the wonderful Voda hosting empire. They got what it takes to take what you've got :-)

Everything that you read here is totally correct and I wish I had found this site before I signed up. I signed up for the yearly package last saturday and have yet to get a reply to my many emails. Very unethical and unapproachable. Try calling vodahost.com number and even leave a message. All messages refer to send an email or post a ticket which they never answer. Not sure how many people are at the company.

I have posted the following on some other sites as well, as I am sick and tired of being ripped off by people like those at Vodahost! I would like to spare any others from going through the experience! If enough of us who have been screwed by them start posting enough, maybe it will be enough to cover their fake-postive reviews; and wake them up to the fact that BAD BUSINESS practices will hurt them in the long run. (Not that it would give them any sense of morality or decency)...
Unfortunately, they prey on those new to the web world. Do NOT go with Vodahost! The website builder that they claim helps you build sites is nothing more than a pile of free opensource ware that they took from somewhere else, grouped together, and called 'bluevoda/soholaunch'. I had more bugs and ridiculous problems than I could believe! Even text wouldn't align properly - and the people on the forums act like they know what they are doing, but they don't!
I also had joined, because there was an option NOT to auto-renew billing after one year, because I ALWAYS want to try out a plan first, before allowing any autorenew.
So according to their TOS, I checked that option NOT to autorenew, when I signed up. However, OH BEWARE because sure enough, one year later, they charged my credit card anyway! The major danger is that they make you communicate to them through use of 'support tickets' - using a form on their website (that THEY control!) - so although I had submitted a 'support ticket' to cancel my service, it was never canceled because they chose not to answer it.
They will scam you every chance they get - have no scruples, please anyone reading these saccharin posts about how great it is, DON'T FALL FOR IT!!! :(

I started at vodahost after several years using web hosting. At first it seemed my dream had come true, little to my knowledge it was total s*it, much like window$ is an operating system nowadays.
They are full of lies, let me list just afew!
1. As a paying customer I was banned form their forum on my first post expressing my concern about the overload status of my server.
2. My 200GB storage has gone down to 24,000 MB while my 300GB Data transfer has grown to 600GB. WTF!!!! How the F*UCK do i use that in one month with just 24GB space you little SH*TS!
3. My support tickets take 2-3 days to answer on their 24/7 hosting, especially when im polite.
4. Any technical problems ie. file permissions access are your own problem to handle. Luckily my console is a server, otherwise i'd be hostless with 8months to go.
5. Downtime is >5hrs a month as the server rejects my NZ connection, where all of my customers are. Can't they change the access permissions or something for me? it is so unfair!
6. My Free domain name registration lasts for one year. After that I must pay for it.
7. One cannot register a new account under the same name, they can only have the one account yet "your not allowed to host multiple customers sites on the same account."
8. The affiliate program software is near impossible to download without multiple support tickets, and you need to install it all on your own. I had no trouble doing this but imagine how many others have tried.
9. All added websites are simply sub-domains of your original website. This can look rather dodge on search engines.
10. Only 2 out of 5 75GB hard disks are evident on the server.
11. Server load is 5.77 (4 cpus)/critical at all times.
12. Disk sda1/backup is 93% full at all times.
13. "Soholaunch" (You will love this) No I don't you liar
14. 27/7 Support Ticket System - My ass.
15. Form Maker Pro (Must See) - I can see it but I can make better forms with Notepad.
16. Third Party Carts Allowed Yes - But not the ones that I like.
17. You cannot install some programs on the server which may be crucial for the use of your site.
18. U$25 Advertising Credit on Yahoo - I asked for it but never got it.
19. I change my account email but they always change it back. How are they to contact me if I don't use that account very often?
20. I'm tired of writing up stuff, just try not to use them unless you just want a simple 1-10 page html site with no advanced features.

Fanatical Service???? I THINK NOT !!!!!
They had a server upgrade about 4 weeks with absolutely no warning whatsoever, they just moved all our web sites to a new server without informing us.... Since then we have completely lost some sites, lost email accounts and our FTP manager is almost non existent.
The software is great, but what really lets this company down is communication and the Forums are very heavily monitored and any moans or groans about VodaHost are quickly removed, I suppose this is what it must have been like living in Russia during the Cold War.
Fanatical Censorship and not Fanatical Service is the order of the day at VodaHost...

I have been with Vodahost for less than three months now, but wish I had never have chosen them or gone anywhere near them, they're absolutely useless.
They say they are absolutely fanatical about customer support - what a joke!! When you do submit a support ticket it can take days for them to respond and then when they do so, the support language used can be rather rude and abrupt.
So, drawing a blank there, you think to yourself, ok I'll post on the forum, see what joy I can receive there.
Word of advice, whatever you do, word your concern very very VERY VERY carefully, this company loves to maintain a squeeky clean image to get your money.
My first post ever on the forum was to my website designer thanking her publically for helping me out, very professional Lady, just superb to work with, nothing but high praise for her, lo and behold, the post was immediately jumped on by some guy telling me that self promotion and prefabricated praise was not allowed. I took exception to this, first pointing out that I was not self promoting myself, but another kind lady who had helped me out so much and that I thought it rather rude that he should be suggesting on my first post ever that I was some kind of liar by saying that the praise had been set up in advance, when in fact it had been given quite spontaneously.
In jump 3 VH supporters, each lamblasting me with their remarks completely derailing the thread and ridiculing my website designer. Again I thought this was very rude, for everyone likes to receive praise, and it is exceptionally rude of the admin to pile in, to take down someone who has just received high praise for a job well done. The thread disintegrated, I was rather forthright I admit and gave as good as I got, before too long however, despite sterenuously complaining about the actions of the admin, the thread was deleted. As were all my other subsequent threads aimed at helping others in the community with their concerns. I was then banned for 14 days from the forum.
What I do think is unfair is that these admin each self promote their own web site design services, and since right at the start I turned one of them down, choosing an 'ordinary' member instead, it seems this was the source of the problem I was having with them. I do not think it right that these admin can self promote their services which creates a conflict of interest which does not propagate a fair playing field for everyone else.
Upon getting back on the forum, I make a post of apology, thinking it better to smooth the waters, afterall I had been pretty forthright myself responding to these control freaks. I was told that my initial comments were not 'appropriate', to which I replied that I was terribly sorry, that I would make sure that in the future I did not heap positive praise on other members and that I would do my level headed best to reign such positivism in. Of course, not understanding the British sense of humour, the whole thread was immediately deleted in full.
Now to this evening and the past week.
Towards the end of the ban from the forum ONE OF VODAHOSTS SERVERS CRASHED, wiping out my website entirely, everything except for the front page, all the work, time and effort put in, it all vanished.
Rather than supporting a new ticket for customer support, knowing their track record, I made a post in the SEO section of the forum, extremely matter of factly and ever so polite, asking if there was a chance of some kind of compensation for the loss of business in the past week - even an apology would have been nice, and maybe some useful freebie thrown in, to let me know that they cared - nothing of the sort.
THE ENTIRE THREAD WAS IMMEDIATELY DELETED IN THREE MINUTES FLAT!!
I posted again straightaway asking where my thread had disappeared to, that was deleted straightaway too, I posted again, saying that if this kept on happening I would set up my own independent forum for other complainee's to have a true voice and that they the admin were welcome to respond out in the open there - the power of the internet and freedom of speech - obviously deleted straightaway, hence I came here to make this rather lengthy thread.
What annoys me is that I/we spent hours upon hours upon hours designing the website and within 2 weeks of it being fully online, pretty much every page was lost, requiring all that work to be put in again.
This is a new business, I have invested everything I have pretty much to get this set up and running and previously was unemployed with no savings, so you can imagine how important it is to me to have a host who will truly look after me.
Vodahost has been nothing but a headache, all the effort put in to increase my SEO rankings, has gone down the drain, since most of the pages returned a Page Not Found - brilliant, this is all I need!! Where is the ultimate sarcasm emoticon when you need it?!!
My advice to anyone thinking of using Vodahost for your small business website is NOT TO TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!! They really are useless, customer support is terrible and rude, the forum is an absolute joke, the only reason you cannot see any neative remarks is because I guess, ll those kind of posts have been deleted. What does that say to the rest of the world? What true image is represented when you can't see out of a community of 10,000, not even one complaint? You want to ask yourself, are they REALLY, I mean REALLY that good, or is something fishy fggoing on?
If anyone can point me in the direction of a decent host that understands true customer support, I'd be delighted to hear from you and whether it is feasible to transfer my website to another company, whilst too, still being able to maintain changes to my web pages every now and then using someone else.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH VODAHOST IF YOU ARE A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER, if you do so, it will be a lesson learned and a terrible mistake!!
