Never a problem until you want to end your service there

I had no issues with Siteground and used them for years. I had no downtime to speak, no technical errors - it was simple to use and never failed me. But I was paying for a lot more than I was using - so I looked to end my time there and move on to something more reasonable.
I did not receive an email that my account had expired until two days later, and they made no attempt to fix the error other than offer me three months service for $30. All I wanted was to backup everything, which it doesn't look like I will be able to do! This is not the only time I have had a billing issue, and both times they have only offered to pull more money out of me.
Sorely disappointed that even a "loyal customer" can't find reasonable resolve
