I used setupsite to host my site for a number of years. I recently switched hosting to my ecommerce provider since their hosting service is included in their package.
Setupsite said they would reimburse my annual fee after the transfer was completed and now I find I am unable to reach anyone via phone or web. In fact, there seems to no longer be a website at www.setupsite.com.
Anybody know anything???

Up & Down and change all around

We have just copied our entire site to another hosting company, Once everything is up and running we will terminate our relationship with Setup Site, and repoint our DNS servers.
I like their customer service, and have had good experience with them. I have had to prove several problems to them and provide them with exact info on how to configure their servers for a component that they profess to have installed.
Their email servers are down quite regularly, the entire site "setupsite.com" goes down frequently and the dns pointers get lost.
[Like right now, all most on schedule.. the entire setupsite domain is down, if it follows the usual pattern, it will not be back online till late Monday.. when somone notices the entire site is down]
Their hosted sites go down even more frequently and there is no warning except the site becomes increasingly sluggish until it just drops off the map and dies..
Their FTP server works well when it works, but it does not work more often than it does work. We often have to call them to reboot either the host server or the ftp server or the email server.
Last weekend mail was down the whole weekend, this weekend it is down again, and the entire setupsite.com domain is down as well.
The 9-5 support 5 days a week is not acceptable for any serious site.
It is difficult to prove that they have a problem even after many calls and emails, but eventually someone actually admits it and tries to fix it... Once they get into the fix it mode they are very helpful, but it is a long mile for them to get to that fork in the road.
They have uninstalled components with out notice, have change paraemters on other so that existing code breaks and has to be modified to work.. Code that has worked for a year or longer often just stops working because of some change the engineers put together which changes the code interface.
We have to move, Our livelhood depends on have a current , stable enviornment that our customers can depend on.

An E-commerce worse nightmare

Let's see... our site has been down for 8 hrs Wed to Thursday, then on and off, then down for another 8 hrs from Saturday to Sunday, and today Sunday has been down already for 5 hrs with no hope for them to fix this mess until Monday morning... in between it was down for a couple hours at a time and mostly slow when up... mind you we had just emailed our customers with a 48 hrs special... they couldn't access then extended til Monday and today they still can't access it! We have to call them every 3 weeks to empty the logs otherwise customers can't checkout. It has been an excuse after another. We had the same problems when we were still working on the site and had no traffic. Stay away. Who ever heard of a hosting company with support 9-5 on weekdays only... and ... never an apology and never a credit!

Undependable customer service and downtime

Setupsite works as a homemade server. The custoemr service is horribly rude, and incompetent. They have lost credit card information, wrongly update vital information, and misplace domain renewals.
A horrible experience, they further make it difficult for you to leave them.

Terrible Support and loads of downtime

Please don't event think to host with setupsite.com.
The support is terrible and only available at office hours. So if your site is down friday night it will remain down till monday morning because they don't work during the weekend. I recommend more to use a service like www.godaddy.com which uptime is better and support by phone is 24/7.
