I work as a freelance designer (which also means I play pitch-hitter for tech support), and I always have clients that insist on using GoDaddy. My guess is they saw their super bowl ad at some point, and are attracted to the price.
I often try to remind them that you get what you pay for, and GoDaddy is the cheapest guy on the block.
I used them once for myself, and that lasted about 2 months. However, I am forced to use them almost every day for my clients.
Domain parking issues. FTP issues (too many simultaneous connections? Are you kidding me?) Email issues. Oh god, the email issues.
And of course, their stock response: "it's your fault."
I have to say, if you rely on your website or email in any sense, steer 100% clear of Godaddy. Yeah, they're cheap, but what good is a webhost that doesn't work, and won't help you when you have an issue?
