Godaddy doesn't have tech support (know nothing)! I buy the email for 5 users. When I login in China or Hong Kong, It loads for 5 minutes without any information come out. It has no problem to login in USA. I called to their tech support. They just told me they don't know what's happen either. You buy an email plan but you can't login. Is it useless? I plan to change back to yahoo server but it has to wait 60 days if the domain name is new. Wasting my money!!!!!!

I've been with GoDaddy since 2006. I have 104 domain names hosted or parked with them.

Their website interface is extremely confusing to me, especially if I haven't used it for a month so I forget.

However, they make up for it by providing the best telephone support of any company I've ever dealt with.

1) They are Americans, and most speak clearly and in normal terms, not Geek.
2) Those that do speak Geek don't usually mind when you ask for a clearer explanation
3) The Customer service people on the phone don't pressure you to hurry up, or act exasperated when you ask questions which are surely way below their level of learning.
4) I frequently call with one question but think of others while on the line with them. They always take time to answer every question to my satisfaction.
5) I've called GoDaddy's support probably 100 times and I've only had two bad experiences. When I did, I just ended the call, and called right back in order to get a different person. Works every time! :)
6) Did I mention their phone bank is in the USA?

I have two major complaints.

1) The admin side of my GoDaddy account runs reallllly slowwwwwly. Tech support tells me it's because I have 104 domain names. Seems to me they should fix that for me. I spend a lot of money there.

2) Their admin pages time out way too fast! I do a million things a day, and so if I'm working on a website then a customer comes in or calls in, or if I have to search for graphics on my hard drive, I have to ignore the admin page for 10-30 minutes. When I come back, it's logged itself out! I want a 60-minute timeout allowance.

Now, I do have a small ecommerce site hosted with GoDaddy and I have not noticed it running slowly, even though my admin side does.

I should note that their ecommerce software is simple, and looks good (because I used one of their templates), but doesn't allow a lot of options like good control over coupons. It's basic, but doesn't require the learning curve of something like Miva Merchant.

I recommend GoDaddy very highly--especially to people who are not highly tech-savvy.

The price for bare-bones domain hosting is actually $9.63 or more after one year.

The website is confusing and web forms appear designed to disorient the user and upsell more product at every stage of a process.

When you makes changes to your profile you're locked in for 60 days (apparently you agree to this on in one of 3 links containing legal information).

This means that if you make changes to your contact information in order to facilitate a transfer of an expiring domain to a cheaper and/or better service you end up having to pay GoDaddy an additional year of service.

godaddy is set up to confusing and complicated. It is extremely difficult to get assistance for refunds (im still trying to get money back from them) they want you to sign up for a cheap website and then forget that you are paying them. I am very frustrated and disappointed with their interface and their service, and I will be moving my sites elsewhere ASAP.

It’s difficult to express in words just how bad this outfit is. There are 2 main problems: (1) the site is excruciatingly slow; (2) when there are problems (and trust me, there will be) their technical support is slow, incompetent, unhelpful and complacent. You can be without your site for weeks. Avoid at all costs. I will move as soon as I can choose a new host.

Got sucked in by GoDaddy with low-priced domain and hosting offers. For a while, it was okay because I really just needed a few static pages up and I didn't have much traffic. For that, it was the lowest price I could find and it sufficed.

However, eventually I put up a site driven by Joomla, and traffic increased around the same time. On average, I had about two dozen users online during the daytime and evening hours, and GoDaddy's servers seemed incapable of handling even this small load. Page load times creeped up to 20 and 30 seconds, if the pages loaded at all. Tier 1 phone support was able to log on and verify the problem existed, but when they escalated it to the engineers I always got a reply back 24 hours later that they could see no issues. They blamed bad coding, despite the fact that Joomla is provided for installation on their hosting accounts within their own control panel. Meanwhile, I subscribed to a server monitoring service that checked twenty times an hour - my site failed to load 3% of the time (and the service only reported a failure if it could be confirmed by multiple geographically diverse testing sites).

I moved the site to Hostgator after getting annoyed at being jerked around. The exact same site has had 100% uptime with Hostgator, and the average page load time is less than one-sixth of what it was at GoDaddy.

I don't know if it's the hosting servers or the database servers that are overloaded (and yes, they're separate), but it's very clear that GoDaddy has an overcrowding issue on its shared servers. Avoid them if you use Joomla or any other database-driven CMS, even if your traffic is on the low side. If their low costs have already drawn you in, be prepared to babysit.

These guys are major scam artists. Their products are misleading and the customer service is a bad joke. Worst of all they are a bunch of crooks, they know it and think it's funny. I imagine they sit around at their desks saying, "Man aren't we smart the way we rip people off and get away with it"
They will boldly steal your money and then laugh at you when you complain. When they lie to you and screw up your billing account, and they will, you'll have to go to your credit card company to dispute the charges. That's the only way to get your money back with these jokers.
