What a waste!

Don't know where to start. Just now we realized that we are out of 300 bux "thanks" to Goddady.

Upon the account closure (due to their lack of promised 99.99% uptime), there is NO confirmation where the refund is going to be issued to. Of course it went to an old paypal account with credit cards (closed) attached to it. Needless to say, the bank has accepted the "refund" that was suppose to go to a different paypal account (multiple accounts at godaddy were consolidated into one joint hosting account).

Pay attention! They promise 99.99% uptime, but it's nowhere to be found. Average uptime was 95-98% with constant blaming joomla as a platform for our site.

As soon as we transferred our sites to siteground - 100% uptime.

GoDaddy still does offer phone support, but NOTHING can be solved via phone support. If joomla installation froze-up - it took us 48+ hours to make them stop the process and restart it.

If YOU can MANAGE your site and services - STAY AWAY from them. We are GLAD we are no longer with them.

i am a professional programmer, business owner and have 15 years in web development, i use to use godaddy with a few accounts i had from clients, but i moved my domains after a godaddy charge for not updating my records and in essence i still had the old address, but they would not refund my money, so they lost about 200 domains and hosting from me, they didn't care i had that much business with them and pretty much that is there whole attitude, well latley i got a new client and they use godaddy so when i went to setup there hosting to correspond with there domain the godaddy form didn't work CRAP!, never had that happen on for a hosting company, here you are a multi million dollar company and can't even make a form properly, CRAP!, now i can't even login because the website is buggy, CRAP!, i had a client get a dedicated server through godaddy *which are not there servers,,, they farm them out,,, he had some trouble and asked godaddy, godaddy had no idea what to do, this guy spent a half of a day trying to find help, finally he called me and put me of conference call with godaddy, the response i got was "We don't have anything to do with dedicated servers" CRAP! why do you sell them? eventually we traced the IP and found the server hoster, go with another company, there are better prices out there and much much better hosters, godaddy is the worst hosting company i have ever dealt with and i work with about 30 different major hosting companies, CRAP! come on godaddy you have the most difficult user interface and now it doesn't work, what an unprofessional company, focus more on hosting and less on tits

I have been sending clients to GoDaddy for years. Not anymore.

I recently set up a virtual windows server with them. From the get-go our website showed permission errors. They said the problem was with my coding. They wanted me to pay them to look into it. Really? Even when there was only a single page with a single word in it, we got the same error.

They finally admitted that Plesk doesn't work with ASP.NET. So we had to wipe the server clean and start over.

Then the server started crashing randomly. They claimed there was nothing wrong with the server. Really? It just crashes? Is that my code? In desperation, we wiped the server clean and started over again. Still having problems.

I could go on and on but I have already wasted enough time with these guys. Fortunately I also use another hosting company and they have been excellent, so I can move my remaining clients over.

Star away from GoDaddy Dedicated server

I buy a dedicated package ant I'm s sorry about that. The price is okay but the network is too slow. When I use wget to get file from the internet, the speed is around 10Kb/s compare to my another server (at mediatemple) is 10MB/s. The support is too slow too, everything is too slow.
And they don't have guaranty for network speed.

It is amazing how hard to navigate this hosting system is. It is unbelievably difficult to set up email addresses, Help is stupidly organized, the system lacks basic things yet it has a lot of popup windows and JS-based things. They sacrificed simplicity and effectiveness for being 'up-to-date' and nicely designed.

In the last 2-3 months, I've seen three outages (1 infrastructure down, 2 mysql servers down), and one security breach that required them to restore.

They wouldn't tell me what happened, when it did, what the breach was, or what day they restored the system to. I walked away not knowing if I goofed and needed to change my ways.

I asked for some reassurance that they would be compliant with the new Visa security rules but they wouldn't give it to me.

I'm looking elsewhere.

I purchased some web hosting, and domain related products from Godaddy just over a year ago, and I cannot tell you how mad I am to be a customer.

Not only have I experienced a great deal of problems with their user interface, as well as other aspects of their products, but their customer service is absolutely incompetent, and was not able to resolve my problems at all. Furthermore since I have tried to change providers, it’s going to cost me over 10 times my initial investment, just to get out of Godaddy’s service.

They’re tricky, it’s not really a contract service, so it’s not that kind of fee, but well, you’ll see.. if you sign up with them.

I’d suggest exploring some other options

GoDaddy support has never been on point, they skate around issues, and if you have any custom scripts = jQuary anything they automatically blame whatever the issue is on custom scripts, whether there being used or not, just if they reside in your file system. Try it. You will get the same irrelavant BS that they always respond with. Example everytime I Recycle the application pool = because there servers do not, I kills the file permissions, which is no big deal to fix but it should not happen. The last 5 support requests I sent to them they just restated what I stated and with cut and paste requests = no answer.
Support sucks, really bad.

If you are really serious about your Internet Business, you really dont want to go for godaddy.

It is slow. your websites would take ages to open
Last month, their servers suffered mass infections and all websites were infected, They did nothing to help me with that. btw, my website was attacked 8 times in a month :(
Bad bad customer support. They copy-paste pre-written responses.

I am looking for a new host and i want to get rid of Godaddy. It sucks

Slow Slow Slow

For domain names yeah their cheap..hosting wise.. its just bad. Evenings its ok its not so slow.. in the afternoon it is just dreadful. I tested a page with no images or database access and it hit the 15 minute mark and was still loading and i finally gave up. After many complaints from my site users and emails i had enough. My site was only getting about 10-15 users a day and at peak during a specific promotion about 100. When your getting complaints from the only 3 people who used the site all day that is bad. They moved me to several different servers promising speed increases, it never happened. Databse restores failed all the time and locked up so I would need to contact support and wait up to 3 days for it to be fixed. I started backing up my databases my self in the end and restoring on my own if needed. THe database access times were also horrible.. pags would hang on database access for several minutes while waiting for a response. AM arranging a new host now and will be leaving godaddy as soon as possible.
