It seems that the server we are hosted on is down for "maintenance" almost eveyday in the morning for between 15 minutes to one hour. We can not afford this anymore.

After experiences with three other hosting companies I found Bluehost. They have 24/7 PHONE tech support (which I have not needed). The control panel page is better than others that I have encountered. Customer communication regarding upgrades come often. I'm in my third year with them and have placed three sites with them and plan to move another site there soon. Pricing is good especially if you pay a year or two in advance.

BH looks good on paper, but one soon realizes everything costs extra. My site is a very simple low CPU minimalist on, yet CPU exceed errors pop up a lot. Cost to make them go away? $40 a month!! And why? Because someone else sharing is using more than I am. Hardly seems fair.
Ditto their so-called "spam assasin". Their spam control was ok at first but as soon as their paid version came out, the floodgates opened up. And the black mail started - pay then $4/mo or get an inbox filled with junk:-(
Caveat Emptor. Their live chat is ridiculously useless. Good luck wating to hear back on a ticket, and the support database is beyond worthless!
I'm currently seeking an alternative, and will move as soon as possible.

So far so good. I wanted to mention that although somewhere on bhr it says that you can have multiple cPanels for addon domains--this is not possible with BlueHost.

I have been with Bluehost for a little over 3 years now. I am constantly working on my websites and relying heavily on the email service. So far they have proved to be very reliable overall. When you call technical support you get through very quickly any time of the day.

I have been with Bluehost for close to two years.
Technical support is terrible.
I have had problems with not being able to run programs due to "cpu exceeds limits" error. Programs such as WordPress and Coppermine which they list on their website caused the "cpu exceeds limit" errors.
I couldn\'t send emails from forum software for over a month. I kept getting exim errors in the control panel. For a month (every day) I battled with technical support on the issue before it was resolved. Without email notifications my forum was useless.
Bluehost is great for down times as well. I would see periods of up to 6 hours where my sites would be down.
Bluehost promises a lot of flash but delivers very, very little.
Bluehost is a "smoke and mirrors" hosting company.
The only good thing I can say about Bluehost my contract is now up and I can move on to a decent hosting company.
If you are wise do not use Bluehost.

Blue host has one product offering and it takes care of everything I need. I was with Ipowerweb for around 3 years with off-and-on problems. Switched to bluehost and it's been perfect.

The uptime is the single most important thing and they have only a few seconds here and there when they cannot be accessed. First class. Phone support 7/24 is good. I like features like Fantastico, unlimited add-on domains, PHP suppport and MySQL. The forum often has answers too. Their C-Panel is enhanced to be the best I've seen.
I have 14 accounts there and they'll get more unless they drop the ball - but no sign of it yet.

I thought I had discovered hosting heaven... All features that I wanted were there, and they have 24/7 phone support that is very professional. Unfortunately, reliability is a major concern for me, and in the 33 days I've had hosting with them, I've lost emails SIX different occasions. Sometimes my aliases disappeared, a few times my email accounts' permissions were messed up, and the most recent times, the accounts were actually gone and had to be restored from backups, meaning I lost data on both occasions. This time, nearly my entire domain was deleted!
Phone support is very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, but it just can't make up for always wondering if my incoming email is bouncing. I'm looking for a new host now, and I'm VERY sad to forced to do so. I gave them chance after chance, though, and enough is enough.

I have 4 accounts with Bluehost. They provide low-cost and high-value hosting that will likely be perfect for anyone who does not require VPS or a dedicated server. Bluehost provides one plan that is in a shared server environment. In the 2 years that I have used their hosting I have had a few times the site was down or functioning incorrectly. Tech support is always friendly and helpful. Sometimes I have had to wait for 10 minutes to talk with tech support but often less than 2 minutes. Again, tech support is always friendly - I haven't had anyone who has treated me as if I don't know anything. Emails have always been returned within 1 day. Server settings are sometimes changed without customers being notified, causing web applications to "break," but Bluehost has always been prompt in helping get the site running again. Overall I feel that I get much more than the $7.95/mo that I pay for hosting.
