Cancellation is terrible. I feel like I am dealing with AOL all over again. In order to cancel a domain or hosting account you must go to cancel.1and1.com and deal with their horribly designed control panel. The options don't let you shut off the auto-renewal feature far in advance so you will need to get online close to your domain expiration date and do it manually.

It is hard to explain but I cancelled a domain and they renewed it anyway, automatically billing my credit card.
