Can't access my site, no help at all. My email boxes get emptied without my knowlege. My website gets wiped out without any explanation. No backup at all.

Don't repeat my mistake. Pay a little more and host elsewhere.

Worst hosting company! My site was always down (especially on weekends when you can't get a hold of them!
)! NOw my site has been down for a week solid. Thier mailboxes are all full! No way to contact them!

Never use them!

These guys are compltetly fraudlent - stay away. And if you are already with them and switch, then change your credit card because they WILL try to charge you again a year later for another $12!! STAY AWAY - cannot say this loudly enough!!

I actually have 3 sites there now that I admin. At first the response time for inquiry was pretty good about 72 hours sometimes same day. Now with the online support request system, I've been waiting for almost 2 months with no response to repeated submissions. When they make changes, they don't tell us. They have changed our logon id and pw without notification. They use to offer the Frontpage Extensions with the basic account and have changed that and taken off our extensions so I've had to FTP. Again no notice. We're in the process of moving our sites and I would suggest all others do the same. 1 DOLLAR HOSTING SUCKS!!!

Dont bother with this plan, the $49 setup fee is more than you would pay at another host for an entire year of service. Sorry guys you know it is true.

We have tried for months and months to move our domain after our site was down for over a week. They won't release it. We are trapped and we DESPARTELY need our domain name and can't just let it go. These people are truly unethical lying pieces of trash.

$1 a month is a bargain, and I've hosted a few sites there for several years. For $1/month you expect barely acceptable uptime, which is what I've had. But when anything goes wrong -- like right NOW, when my site (and theirs) has been replaced by another site and FTP passwords have been changed... and emails to tech support go unanswered and phoen calls to their offices are directed to voicemail.... time to give up. In addition, they've charged me unexpected and mandatory fees every once in a while for problems/upgrades I feel they have invented. I only hope frequent visitors to my websites will return after I've switched to a new host!

I've put up with occaisonal outages and fair customer support for years. Things have been steadily getting worse over the last several months, but this is now over the top. As of 11/30/2006 my site was "replaced" by another site. When I tried to FTP my site the passwords had changed. When I went to www.1dollarhosting.com, their site was also "replaced" - very strange stuff going on here. I cannot even get to their contact information or support page! I just moved to ICDsoft.com, which gets good reviews here (cannot help but be much better than 1dollarhosting.com). STAY AWAY - for the timebeing you really don't have to worry about even accidentally signing up for this because their home site is messed up!

I was a customer of 1dollarhosting for about 5 years. On numerous occasions, my site was unreachable or slow.

For the last few months I was not able to login to update my site, and only after calling them did I discover that I was locked out for using too much space. They claimed that I owed overage charges for the year and threatened to send it to a collection agency. During the year, I never received any email or notice that I was using up too much space. I also never received email about any of my support requests.

The customer service rep (John Day) was very rude and condescending over the phone. I submitted my cancellation request today (and again, no email confirmation).

Stay away from this company.

We were hosted by this company since 2000 - never needed to worry about service because it was a pretty static site.
But when we decided to transfer the site to Yahoo! to make it easier for us to use, all hell broke loose - Phil Shapiro removed our names and contact info from our domain name WHOIS, efectively taking over ownership of our domain name; he locked us out of access from our site; he put a redirect on it to an obscene site; he called us over the phone and made threats against us - there are other people who've contacted me regrading the owner of 1dollarhosting (Phil Shapiro) about paypal accounts being opened up on eBay using their CC#s with delivery addresses to Tarzana -

This company is UNETHICAL and operates in BAD FAITH.

If you don't have problems, count your lucky stars.

This company is SHADY.
