to this review here Back in 2002, this was a great place for basic ASP hosting and a good sandbox to learn ColdFusion. My sites loaded fast, email was reliable, unmetered bandwidth, great price. Then came the announcement of the upgrade. I thought it would be great to get the free upgrades to ASP.NET and CFMX (as they had been charging extra for those new packages) but then as they began to prepare for the migration, my web portal/forum site running on old ASP and MS-SQL slowed down to the point it became unusable. Support told me it was because of the large amount of overhead it used, which it was a little heavy, but that's no exuse for a page load time to go from 3 to 30+ seconds or even time out. I tried explaining it wasn't the site code, I am a professional web developer, I knew what I was talking about... nope, it was the code and not their servers according to them. It eventually (6 months later) improved but was never back to where it was before. Then my ColdFusion sites stopped working. 3 times so far I've had to ask them to switch CF back on. And that's just for my existing sites that were grandfathered in with the CF support. CF was dropped from their new One Plan package and any new sites I brought up written in CF I needed to buy the advanced plan for. And I'm not going to get started on how much of a chore it was to get CF sites to work with a simple Access database. Then they finally added MySQL support... but not for ColdFusion. They suggested I use Access or MS-SQL, one of which is not suitable for the scale of my new project, and the other I don't care to pay extra for. Even the readyhosting control panel is ridiculously slow most of the time. I click a link or button to get to a section I want to modify, then go do something else for 5 minutes while I wait for the page to come up. As for their support in general, I'm amazed when I gwet a reply within 24 hours now. I guess they want to encourage people to pay for their new "Web Concierge" service for instant support. Yeah, I've found another place which offers more for less, seems to be staffed by good people that care about their product and customers, and even have special services for ministries and non-profit organizations for free or discounted hosting, and I am starting to switch my sites over there today and do not plan on looking back.
