to this review here I ran across Prohosting in June of 2001 and liked the listed Unlimited packages. I called them and went over my needs in 3GB storage and would that be a problem. I was told that 3GB would not be a problem so I began uploading my files. I got everything uploaded and working and then I received an email stating that what I had uploaded constituted an "archive". What is an archive I asked and was given an example: storage of large amounts to be downloaded by my clients. I told the person none of my files were downloadable they were music files for my customers to listen to and then call with an order. I have no files for download like photos or music. Finally, after they looked at my site I was given the go ahead but that I could not come back and upload more files requiring additional storage space. I have been paying the $99.00/month for 6 months and just received an email stating that I an over the allotted storage. I should remove files to get back in compliance or pay for the additional storage. Prohosting has since changed their packages and the unlimited package now states a 1500 MG limit. I wrote them in response to the email but the bottom line is remove files or pay the additional $ 75.00/month. I plan to move my files to another host as I cannot trust them. Beware if you spend lots of time setting up your site you could be notified that you will have to upgrade or downsize. Leave a comment >> |
