I honestly think that Lunarpages is one of the best hosts out there. They have a very friendly and quick, knowledgeable tech/support staff.

I think the people who rated this host bad was before they updated their plans (Basic now with a massive 250 GB, and 2500 GB transfer!). I'd think their support ways have changed as well. Who knows? I have yet to see... But up to this moment, my hosting experience has gotten along perfectly.

I have been using Lunarpages for about 3 years now and I am very satisfied with their service. Especially their customer service by email is very responsive. I think I never had to wait for more than 1 or 2 hours before I got a helpful response.
There had been some downtime but maybe once in half a year and only very brief.
This was all with a basic hosting plan which is very generous. Due to growing traffic on my site I will probably switch to a virtual private hosting soon and will add my experience about moving the website here.

I use their Horde web email service and it is horrible. When I phone them, no one is there. No one answers emails, even if they are desperate. So I'm looking for a new web-hosting service!

When ever you call lunarpages they have you waiting for at 30min to 1hr be you get a response. That is if you get a response. I will be sure to move my Domain name and preach to the world that is company is the worst in the world. They Truly Sucks. Plase who ever reads this run from this company they are the worst

Lunarpages is just pretty awful. If you don't mind randomly losing emails to the ether, websites going down for days at a time with no explanation, or limts on how many scripts etc you can use, please go ahead and use Lunarpages.

I've since switched to WingSix, and they have the same prices with more space, less restrictions, and I actually get all the email that people send me.

Oh, and don't forget that Lunarpages has an online bbs for tech problems. Thing is, if anything shows that there has been any downtime, they completely delete the thread.

I am a program developer so I know my way around the PC environment. However, 4 years ago I was just breaking into Web development and decided to go with Lunarpages to practice. I put up a personal family site mainly for all family member's to have email and a place to get connected and chat.

I don't know where Lunarpages gets their high uptime ratings, but with 26 family member email accounts we can attest that there are problems. Originally I felt proud to provide my relatives across the country with personal email accounts that went by their first@lastname.com, only to be embarrassed by polite complaints that they've switched back to their other email because they can't get their mail half the time. Several of my daughters (big family) still check their Lunarpage email accounts as a courtesy to me, but I found recently that they secretly and primarily have been using alternative email services for years.

I had a private family forum set up in which we would post updates from across the country to keep in touch. It was fun because it also chronicled historical activities and chat about our childhood memories between siblings. One day it was just gone. No notice, no email from Lunar's Techs... just GONE. Later I found that they had disabled all customer's forums for security reasons. Apparently they'd found an exploit in the PHPBB Forum that they provided their own customers.

My experience with tech support was less than satisfactory as well. One time I called and the tech acted as if he was dis-interested in my problem. The site was making me log in multiple times. He spoke to me as if it were something I should learn to put up with. He never resolved the problem and I found myself trying to find a way to politely get off the phone with him.

Finally, I have a problem with companies that permanently reduce rate plans to remain competitive, but never offer it to their faithful existing customers. My current account is $95.40 annually ($7.95/mo) plus $14.95 for a Yearly Domain Name Registration. Yet their current pricing is now $6.95/mo and Free Domain Name For Life. Am I now shopping for a new service provider? You bet... Go Daddy isn't looking too bad.

and no reason to change. I would and have recommended Lunarpages to several people. I've been hosting with them with 3 sites for well over 5 years now and have never had an issue thats took more than an hour or 2 to correct.

Lunapages offers the best value for money.
Not only is their feature rich hosting cheap but they also offer excellent support and service.
I have never had a serious problem with them, whenever I have made a technical request (eg domain changes) the responses have been fast and friendly.

Reccoment these guys to anyone, i haven't ever had an issue thats took more than an hour or 2 to solve (touch wood), the support is the best in the world, tell you what if Lunarpages was an extra £100 a month than it is, i'd still be with them..

I've had a few hosts for my sites and Lunarpages is by far my most favorite host. They've upgraded plans 3-4 times during my time with them and yet the price has gone DOWN instead of up. Each time I've had to interract with the support department I've received quick, friendly, and courteous attention from real people. I've recommended Lunarpages to all my friends and colleagues and none of them have been disappointed!
