Justhost is a scam and they are a Singapore based company i think. Their workers barely speak English and they will suspend your "unlimited" account if you start to get around 300-400 visitors a day, without even warning! Stay away from them.

Just Host has also been giving me the run-around. When I talked to them on the phone, they gave me a fake number to "billing" 1-888-899-9518. Also charged me for domain privacy and when I went to whois.net I found my full name, address and phone number for the world to see. Buyer beware.

I agree completely, had similar problems as you all describe. TOTAL SCAM. I was very upset when I found this website and realised I had been scammed out of $150. They claim that all payments are fully refundable. Well they will be when my CC company takes them back due to their fraudulent claims. The staff on the phone are absolutely horrible to deal with, very rude, abrupt, barely speak english, unhelpful. Their claims that hosting is unlimited is a load of ****, claims that you can host unlimited domains also **** unless you pay heaps of money to add more. Very very upset with how they have ripped me off.

I had the same experience with JustHost--the rude "customer service" people that can't speak the King's English. Every time you click a button they try to sell you an add-on.
When I asked to cancel I was told to send email. The response was "sorry to see ya go but we are keeping $20 for the domain name and the charges for the upgrades are non-refundable". I shall see what PayPal has to say about this operation.

you are right we should have read the terms and then right away we would have read that the company was fraudulent because it is even in their terms and conditions to say that they "incur" a $20 fee for domain names and thats why they keep that amount, thats just bs in itself, no one gets charged that much unless it is a name that someone else has already bought

here's the deal

justhost has been damn good to me

too good, i spam nooby questions at their email support and the reply in 30 mins or so depending on the noobiness of my question

when there's downtime, it's a valid reason, not some bullshit one, and as soon as i report it, it's fixed.

when something minor is wrong with cpanel or the server, I go and contact them and it's finished.

couldn't love this host more, been using em for over a year and will still keep using them.

i host freecheesypizza.com with justhost.com btw, so get at it.

I just transfer my service and signed up with Justhost a few days ago and the experience has been great. Any of my email is reponded within an hour day or night. I think their service is great and their staff is knowledgeable. I agree there are lots of promotional pops up in the website but those are valid features if you need them for e-commerce on the web. I just ignored them. And I don't blame them, they charge only $3.95 a month for their basic service 24x7 but come with everything and more than you need. So far I am quite happy with them and this is a legitimate company so I do not believe it is a scam. It costs less than 150 bucks for 3 years of service what more do you want. My old company is charging me 19.95 a year just to keep my domain name and now it cost nothing at justhost.com. You see Ads everywhere and it will be difficult to find a webpage with no ad on them. I know I will be putting ads on my page, that's how you try to make some extra bucks on the internet nowadays. So don't complain if you are doing the same things with your own customers.

I used Justhost for around 4 months, i KNOW 100% that their internal checks on things LIE - After 4 months i was using 30% sql - , i was closed for having around 200 views per day, they then agreed to allow me to get my MySQL and stuff off their hosting server. They started my site up again and i Discussed what we where going to do about new hosting with the forum and we had some ideas. I assumed that since they never have any gauges as to how much SQL you have you, i shouldn't lose 40$ cause they dont refund if you cross a line thats covered in dirt kind of crap..

After though: wow they dont even state in their TOS that they where not going to refund me, they actually state i would be charged 20$ but HEY i paid 40 so where is my other 4$ (cause 4 months at like 3 something..)

My thing: great if you wanna run a website for a week for school or something - Sucks for anything else under the face of the sun

Great company UNLESS you are receiving 300+ visitors per day. Then they will suspend your account without warning and take hours to respond to your inquiries. I only signed up for an account with them because I received it FREE as a promo giveaway from bigstockphoto.com. If I had paid for service I would be pissed. They have taken my website down twice within the last 24 hours for a total of 10 hours. I would have been happy to upgrade the account had they warned me that I was nearing the limit. Now I've lost a ton of business due to downtime. In my opinion you get what you pay for. If you sign up for the cheapest plan around then you are going to receive service that reflects the $4/mo. price tag. Steer clear of these of idiots.

A bunch of kids run Just Host. I signed with JH on Sept 9th. I transferred my active domain to JustHost on Sept 14th, 2009. Today is Oct 31st (Happy Halloween by the way!) Check yarpool.com or twitterwho.net . JustHost managed to deactivate both my sites in just 2 weeks. How did they do this you ask?
They never transferred the domain yarpool before the expiration date. After a few days contacting enom (the registrar) they "ENom" started getting frustrated with Just Host stating they have no clue why Just Host is not able to transfer the domain. Enom unlocked the domain twice for JH, but JH never did nothing! As of Oct 28th, I canceled my account with Just Host. If i ever see one of those little faggots( the (2) 22 year old owners) I am kickin some ass. Oh yeah, check out BBB of Deleware I filed a complaint!

Boy oh boy.

I started to open an account for a friend with JustHost.com, and stopped after filling out my personal details - name, email, postal, tel.number... I decided against it when I saw the *real* hosting plan prices (they say £2.95/month...but really it's 48 months up front - seriously).

So, form filled out but didn't press Submit or Continue.

Tried to close the window, and two pop-ups appear with a Yes/No dialog box ("STAY PLEASE WE'LL GIVE YOU 50% OFF" type message). Oh dear, here we go. Now you *know* they're not someone you want to host with.

So, I had to close it. I hit cancel then quit the browser the hard way.

Five minutes later, I get this:

> Hi [censored],
> I can see from our records that you attempted to place an order with Just Host today, but for some reason you ran into difficulties and the order was not completed.
> To apologise for any problems you may have experienced, here's a special link to receive 50% off the usual cost of our unlimited Just Plan!

Every key you press is the first step to another expensive add on. Unlimited MY ASSSS. If you are thinking about signing up with Just Host save yourself some money and discomfort and get a root canal. They have multiple sites posing as unbiased reviewers. Google pages are laced with tons of "Oh Just Host is the Most" "Never gave a perfect review before but just have to because they ARE perfect" "Oh Just Host gave me an orgasm they were so great" Blah Blah Blah the BS is easy to swallow until you give them your money. STAY AWAY FROM “Just Host”! (http://www.justhost.com/#ic )
A real bait and switch, with no actual hosting space.
I purchased an online web hosting Monday morning that appears "real", yet after I paid to have web space, I discovered there is no way to access it and there is no "support". The phone number is useless. I was charged 3 times what their online ad offered.
Their site home page offered $3.45 per month new customer account, as soon as I paid within minutes my card was charged. I cannot access my “web space account” anywhere, there is no "support", this service simply does not exist except to be set up to steal by scamming.

I reported them to my credit card co and the FCC - if I am lucky I may have my money recovered. But I will have to cancel my credit card, as they set up accounts with automated charges - I am totally freaked about these crooks having access to my bank account at any time.

I used a few of the "Top 10 web hosting sites" review sites, and “Just Host” showed up on almost all of them. It's all about money, buying a false position on a seemingly legitimate reviews sites
JUST HOST has a $3.45/month offer with free lifetime domain offer - making higher prices being charged to customers illegal! This is clearly litigious, under fair business practice a business must deliver what they offer. They blatantly lie to get as many customers as they can. They are listed as a UK site, but they could be anyone, my guess is Asia somewhere, or Africa. Sadly, these countries are getting a deeply dubious reputation.

Exactly WHO gets this offer? My guess, no one. I followed the links from the initial home page reading: $3.45/month plus a 20% discount, includes a "NEW domain name" offer. By my calculations, $3.45 a month less 20% equals $33.12. Yet after I was linked to the actual registration page Didn't see that price ANYWHERE, nor did I locate their later made-up email price of “$71 REGULAR yearly fee”. WHAT? No where on their site is this amount listed, so WHERE is the savings I supposedly got?
This is classic “bait and switch” under any law in any country.
Clearly if you signed up with JUST HOST you have been scammed! I contacted my creditor and the proper (FCC) fraud authorities yesterday.

The amount charged to my credit card in the invoice they emailed doesn't match the online offer I believed I agreed to. I wrote them multiple times and always get automated
responses. It is obvious no one was reading a single email. Not one questions was addressed, no detail responded to. Their phone numbers are bogus too.
This is obvious fraud. Every time I have written they don't actually respond to my questions, but make up stuff that is nowhere on their site. Here is the last email I received, after I asked them many times WHERE on their site it mentions that I have to pay this higher price?

Here is one of their emails “responding” to one of my many emails:
Mon, Nov 9, 2009 at 3:12 AM
Re: [#763437] Online ad prices bogus? Or just Bait and switch?
Hi M---

Thank you for your email.
The price on the website states $3.45 per month. This is an equivalent monthly amount for our 4 year plan. This means you would pay $165.60 upfront to cover you for the entire term. As said previously, this would pan out at $3.45 per month. The monthly equivalents are given to use as a comparison against our monthly plan offered at $7.95 per month. We are trying to show our customers that signing up for a longer period of time will actually work out cheaper than paying per month for the account.

I apologize if you feel this is misleading, i will pass this email forward to my Managing Director for you to see what can be done. However i would also like to point out, many other competitors of ours do not provide a total amount, they just state the monthly equivalent. This is extremely misleading as they also do not provide a pro-rata refund at any point of the hosting term, so once you have signed up for their hosting, you are stuck with a giant upfront bill to be paid.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Kind regards

I thought I would give them a try since the price was right and my old ISP was boosting their prices into the unreasonable area of 150.00 per year! So I prepaid and gave them the id number to transfer my site and domain to their hosting. Everything went fine at first, my web site worked and I was pleased until my site was just gone. When I contacted Justhost they told me that they were only hosting my site and I had not transfered my domain to their care. My domain was expired and so... poof no website. I sent them a copy of the email proving I had given them the authorization number to transfer the domain and inquiring as to the cost for the renewal etc. They simply said it was my responsibility to take care of the domain name fees and they had nothing to do with it! This after they put in writing that they would handle it!!! I am canceling my service and renewing my domain with ANYBODY else. There service reps could barely speak english and were rude and unhelpful. Never do business with them... EVER

I signed up Monday night and by Tuesday morning realized it was a scam after trying to set up my site. The help line never answered so I called the sale line. Of course they wanted to sell something so they answered the phone, but were extremely unhelpful. I called my credit card company and tried to block payment. I also emailed paypal and opened a dispute about the $49. nonrefundable add on and explained that it was a scam company. Luckily, JH refunded me I think because they did not want the bad mark. So please, listen to all the people that have had problems because that is the norm. I suspect they might do right by a few customers or they write the positive reviews. I also believe they are the one that set up the website listing them as #1. I only wish I had goggled them instead of believing the bogus site.

make room in the complaint department. I sign up for the usual $3.95/month and BAMMM! after sending my bank card info, I too was charged $165.00 which is not high but I dont like the idea of buying anything for that price and not knowing how the service is. I should have read reviews first. Shame on me but the company should show what they intend to charge upfront in BOLD and since they didn't do that i cancelled immediately. It took less than 5 mins. for them to take my $ so y will it take 10 days 4 a refund? I'll let you know when and or if that does happen.

i have recently been moved from an over congested server to a less congested one by request. Live help is always there. yes they are a bit thick but if you talk to billing and or support, you usually get the result you want!

JustHost, JustSucks, I have been trying to cancel the service for the past six months or more and have been given the run around game. I finally had the time to sit down for a few hours to send and receive e-mail from and to their billing department. They kept telling me to go to http://cancel.justhost.com and enter my original user name and original password that I received when I started service, the password I didn’t have. Ounce I received it from another person in the billing department I tried to cancel it and it did not let me go to step two, I kept getting a message saying that the information was wrong. After a few hours of back and forth e-mails they told me that it had been cancelled already. I started at 2:27 pm and finished at 5:44 pm, and only because I was so mad that I sent them a copy of the e-mail that I received from them with all of my information on the same day. What really bothers me the most is that for all this time they have been billing me because I did not have the time to really sit down and get the job done.I have to say it again, JustHost JustSucks.

We paid them £9.95 for daily backups on top of the hosting fees. When our MySQL database was corrupted for the third time in 2 weeks by their server, and they couldn't repair it (it took over a day for each of the first two repairs to be done) it turned out that their last successful backup was FOUR MONTHS OLD!!! They accept no responsibility for this, will not provide a UK phone number and are extremely slow and unhelpful in providing email support. The so called 'live support' is provided by someone who knows only marginally more about the English language than about web hosting.

On cancelling (happily I did have the correct details to hand unlike the previous poster) I was offered all manner of freebies to entice me to stay - it wasn't worth it, their hosting is awful.

When eventually I was answered by someone who didn't seem to understand English, I was cut off. After another twenty minutes trying to get through on the phone I gave up. Note this... this was SALES! which we know is always the most efficient department in any company. God knows how long it would have been if it had been technical support or billing. Needless to say I'm not changing to JustHost and have emailed its CEO Brooke Bryan on b.bryan@justhost.com - I recommend all those who have been time and financially abused by JustHost to do the same.
I think I'll try BlueHost... keep well away from these cowboys at JustHost.

JustHost just suspended my account without notice and all my hard work seemed to be gone. The reason to suspend my account was usage of CPU according to them. What it means that JustHost is not a solution if you have little traffic in your website. In order to get my files back, I sent emails and no answer yet and I paid until May 2011. I called Customer Service and someone from India tried to help but he offered me a plan to pay $150/month for dedicated plan. I will sue them if I dont get my money and files back. Please spread the words who are bad, who are worse and who are greedy scumbags. JustHost, first time and never again.

Further to my previous post above, I received a reply from b.bryan@justhost.com which is the address of Brooke Bryan, the Whois contact for JustHost.
JustHost writes: ‘We are very sorry for the inconveniences you had. We'll try to avoid such situations in future. It was a mistake from our side, but I can confirm such thing won't happen again. Please take our apologies. Thank you Kind regards, Alex Cooper Just Host’.
Putting aside my curiosity about the poor syntax, word choice, and punctuation in the message above, which doesn’t inspire a great deal of confidence in the company, I decided to see if JustHost was as good as its word. After a subsequent telephone call, waiting 18 minutes and still not answered, I hung up; such things will obviously happen again with JustHost.
This post, and my previous post, I’ve added to other forums, with the recommendation that people email b.bryan@justhost.com with polite but strong complaint… it doesn’t take a minute; JustHost might get the message eventually.
I have now signed up with BlueHost… they have a very good ‘live chat’ with real-person operators from the main page for customers and non-customers alike, unlike JustHost that uses a next-to-useless robot ‘live chat’. However, I’ve discovered one feature-lack of BlueHost, and most other web hosts including JustHost… the lack of a facility to upload from the upload client within Dreamweaver and Golive programs. My soon-to-be-previous web host of the last five years, Powweb, seems to be one of the few hosts that, not using cpanel, allows virtually instant very convenient uploading and site changes straight from within Golive. This might be a consideration for some.

They've hosted my website for about 6 months now. At first everything was OK. But then my site started running extremely slow. They claimed it was "something on my end" which it clearly wasn't. It was a server issue. Finally, they transferred me to a different server and miraculously the site was loading much faster. This was until a few days later when I went to the site only to see an "Account Suspended" message. This happened for no apparent reason and no one can give me an answer! I've called multiple times and opened multiple support tickets to no avail! When I call they keep telling me to email customer support. When I ask to speak to a manager they say "managers don't take calls they are too busy in meetings." I was even hungup on. The whole thing has been by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I only wish I had seen this forum beforehand...

Whatever you do, get out while you can. From reading online, there seems to be a pattern of accounts getting suspended at the 6 month mark..

I got tired of their lack of support and cancelled my account. They have held my domain hostage. I contacted their tech support to have my DNS records updated to my new Host. They said it was done. It has NOT!!!Because I had my domain Name registered through them...that's even worse...They use a company called E Nom Canada Corp as the registrar (because it's a .ca domain) which is actually located in London England. there is no 1-800 number. I remember when I was looking for a webhost, I came across this, very nice prices, but when I went to the purchase, you had to pay for years up front, so I closed and never looked back, then I went with my registrar's webhost, GoDaddy, but it was too much for me to pay, 15$, my website is very small, so I had no need for such a big host yet, with an expensive price, so I kept looking, and I came across this again. Very tempted indeed. But I kept researching, and I found a good webhost, which I am using at this moment in time. WebHostingWorld.net, its very cheap for my small website, 1$ a month, you pay for a year upfront, but its only 12$ so big deal. Their Live support gets things done chatting with you, and it takes them 5-10 minutes.
Last problem I had, was that my website kept going down 2-3 times a day, for 1-10 mins each time, so I contacted their live support, and they offered to change my website to a less busy server, so I agreed, my website was back up, and running with 100% uptime, as of today.

Since this is a cheap host, I dont recommend big websites to use it, unless you purchase the more expensive plans, this is a good webhost to start out in, only 12$ a year, wow, costs only a few dollars more than my domain.

It has been almost a year since I signed up with Just Host. Yes, there were a few problems in the beginning but it was taken care of within 48 hours. The only thing they never resolved was the domain privacy. Once they cut me off claiming I had had too many "unlimited" hits. That was fixed after I provided proof of stats. Overall, I have been happy with their hosting service. The price is decent. Their uptime is much better than some other servers I have used, though a bit slow at times. And I haven't had any issues using FTP or the Control Panel.

I have an account with another hosting company that I have never been able to use! Won't they get a surprise when they try to charge me for renewal and discover the credit card is no longer valid...

Anybody dumbfounded by the negative comments obviously writes for JustHost -- that company is a sham. The BBB sells their ratings -- if JustHost weren't a member of BBB, they would receive an "F". JustHost resells a portion of their own SingleHop.com but if you have more than 2 podunk domains with little or no traffic, expect your account to be suspended, which means held hostage until you upgrade to their SingleHop.com discount rate of $150/mo, where they earn monthly commissions on the referral to their host company. These are some sick Frocks that can immobilize a business and attempt to extort fees from them. I seriously doubt I will get the refund they promised and after 10 hours of scrambling, I still don't have all my sites up because of the these jerks. DO NOT TRUST THEM and certainly do not trust some moron claiming that all companies have negative comments. I've had issues with GoDaddy in the past but they would have never pulled the BS that JustExtortion did!

Again, use your brain people. JustHost is JustCrap, JustLies, Just4Fools, JustExtortion.

And if JustHost wants to bring a liable suit, bring it on suckers because you cost me thousands trying to get my business sites back on the web. Oh, and let's not forget that in California there are Anti-SLAPP laws protecting free speech of legitimate problems experienced by your company. Give me a little bit of time and I'll have a site dedicated to sharing your B.S. and all of the emails therein...

I don't know, but for me these guys are gorgeous; they have great customer service and support. They answer emails in about 30 minutes or so. And they also have live chat for minor problems and support. They even refunded me 20% of the hosting plan when I am, by mistake, signed up with a regular plan instead of 20% off plan. Of-course it took several emails to explain everything but finally I have been refunded those 20%. I do not really know the part when you get 300+ visitors a day, but for now everything was great I have 99.9999% up-time and no other problems with the service. I think those guys already good and they are relatively new at the market, so I believe than in the future they’ll be even better!

They are extremely cheap, so you cant expect outstanding customer service, but even there I have no complaints, my questions were resolved once in hours, and another time the next day, luckily it was not urgent. I would certainly recommend it if you have a website that is not the key to your business, like ecommerce, for that, its better to pay a little more.. but if you use it mainly as an email server + presence website its perfectly fine.

I've been with justhost for about a month and a half -- so far so good. I always register domains at domainsatcost.com and from there delegate the DNS to hosting Nameservers (like Justhost's).

I am an advanced user with a great deal of Linux/Unix/Apache/MySQL experience, and was a former system architect for one of the top 150 sites in North America (Alexa stats), and now for Canada's largest ISP, so maybe my view is skewed.

My site is small and I don't expect to be seeing hundreds of unique visitors per day, so justhost fits the bill quite nicely. It does seem like a hosting company like Justhost is good for someone with some LAMP admin experience, who knows how to get around in a linux webserver, and around the limitations imposed by the cpanel. You should also know how to do things like dump and restore your databases or write PHP code for various administration purposes.

A good idea for anyone who has set up a justhost account is to do all your web development locally and push copies of the code up to justhost via FTP (or pull down if you are using things like wordpress or other pre-packaged web applications that you didn't have to upload to the server yourself), on a periodic basis. If you are using the MySQL Database offering, use the PHPMyAdmin software (from cpanel) to export copies of your entire database every so often (any time you make architectural changes, at least). I haven't seen a good way to back up mail accounts and configuration but I will figure it out I'm sure.

Having good backups means that it should be no big deal for you to drop justhost if/when your site gets too big/busy or justhost decides to deactivate your site for some reason.

At that point, go to a larger-scale provider that will give you high-availability setups where you aren't hosted in just one place (on one server), and where all your data is backed up to tape, and the servers are backed by Fibre-Channel SANs with 15k RPM SCSI Disks. I know from personal experience that it takes millions of dollars of infrastructure (not to mention hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for power and cooling) to host large-scale websites in a semi-reliable fashion. A site that is up most of the time for less than $4/month with the features of Justhost is a very good deal.

If they ban my site because I'm raping their bandwidth or causing a lot of CPU/Memory usage due to the applications I've chosen to run on my host, hopefully I am making enough money off my site to upgrade to a larger-scale domain host in the ~$20/mo range (which is still cheap imho).

Before buying a hosting plan with just host, read the terms and conditions.
When people talk of their site being taken down then its probably because its not complying with the terms and conditions(for instance. If you provide video content or basically anything apart from plain text and a bit of groovy flash design you are going to need a dedicated server).

So, if you want to make a website that has videos and stuff like that then you need a dedicated server.

Just host customer support is inconsistent. Sometimes you will get very good help, sometimes you wont. But i advise anybody new to just host to first speak to instant chat support which could save you a lot of time, per problem.

Remember, with a cheap package with Just host you are paying for a shared server. Not a dedicated server.

Did you know you can sell shared server accounts with a dedicated server?

I signed up with Just Host, because they advertised "instant activation". Unfortunately, they do not provide instant activation if you are paying with an US Credit Card. They ask you to send them a copy of your credit card for verification purposes. After that, you must wait between 24-48 hours for your account to be setup. Therefore, they do not have instant activations.

It took me over 20 minutes of waiting on the phone to get someone to actually answer my questions. (She was polite, and quite nice, with that beautiful British accent). But since this is business, not romance, I had no choice but to request the immediate cancellation of the order I placed.

Well on 4/29/10 My domain needed to be renewed. They said they will NOT give me my EEP or my authorization code so I can renew it or allow me to transfer my domain to someone else. They told me I have to pay for 1yr of THEIR hosting THEN they will allow me to transfer and renew my domain. IF I DO NOT pay them for 1 yr of hosting they said.. "if you are not willing to pay for the fee for the our hosting then you need to wait for 60 days for this to be released onto the market and then register the domain again as we are unable release expired domains for these to be transferred. Before the domain is released onto the market is goes through a period of redemption where the domain is several hundred $'s to be renewed during this time. If you would like to renew the domain for the fee of $71.40 then this needs to be done almost immediately."

SO they are holding my domain name hostage unless I renew with THEIR service.

A domain name registration bought from justhost.com was invoiced for nearly ten times the cost of the domain name registration [there exists justhosts.com, justhosts.co.uk, and also a justhost.co.uk, none of which have any connection to justhost.com , registered in the UK by Mr Brooke Bryan b.bryan@justhost.com address UK Head Office Unit A2, Segenworth Business Centre, Segenworth Road, Fareham, Hampshire PO15 5RQ UK : 'whois' also lists US and and Australian addresses]

Is this inflation of a cost what others on this forum have referred to, an accumulating cost arrived at by a potential customer simply looking through the web site pages and buying less than what has actually been looked at?

If this is indeed what is happening then it is a deception committed in pursuit of wrongfully debiting the bank account of another to credit one's own bank account. An act that is a blatant contravention of The Theft Act (UK) and such contravention is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. And where there is an offence, 'all linked companies are to be treated as one' (The Theft Act) with all the officers of all companies suffering the same fate.

Payment of the inflated cost has been blocked at the bank and any attempt by justhost.com to collect the total arrived at by such deception would indeed constitute an attempt (well documented) a conspiracy, to contravene the theft act.

On the two occasions in the past when two different web hosts - streamline.net and fasthosts.co.uk - deceptively took money from me that they were not due, I threatened fasthosts.co.uk and all officers leading up to United Internet AG (of '1 & 1' or 'Eins und Eins' fame) the owners of both mentioned above, to seek The Chief Constable of Gloucester's assistance to indict for contravention of The Theft Act - needless to say I got every penny back post haste : I did actually write and ask The Chief Constable of Derbyshire to assist me in indicting Andrew Dollamore, then owner of streamline.net, but was satisfied when all money wrongly taken was bounced back into my account almost immediately.

I still wait to see if I will be writing to yet a third, Alex Marshall, Chief Constable of Hampshire - Fareham is in Hampshire, and to accord with UK law it is where the offence is committed that determines which Chief Constable you contact : and anyone can write, and all CCs details are online. This is white all 'distance sellers' must provide an address to conform to the UK Distance Selling Statute (Was it not good of the last UK government to put all the laws up for googling?)

It all seemed totally legit, and then this morning I am unable to access any of the services - can't access my website, the admin side of it, the cpanel. After reading all the comments posted I am very worried that I will not only lose my money but also the domain names. Fuck! I feel like a twat being hoodwinked. Uploading the website was easy with their tools but I haven't been in there for months and now I can't get in. Tech support says they are able to access my cPanel after resetting my password but I still can't.

I run drivewayhandyman.com and I'm real....not a competitor of JustHost.

After a YEAR I was told I could no longer host video or audio pages on my website. Supposedly, this has always been the policy. I don't remember it being so, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. So on a FRIDAY mind you they send me an unprofessional email telling me to take down the content or else. I asked if I could get it done by Monday as I have a lot of content on there. I was given another unprofessional email saying just "No". WHAT!?! This is your customer service skill set! No empatghy. No, "I'm sorry, but we're unable to do this." - I get an email saying "NO". I'm guessing my site started getting to big for them and that's why they contacted me after a YEAR! I'm going with my own server from now on so I don't have to deal with these unprofessional and unregulated companies with zero concept of customer service.

I will post here what I posted on another website review, because nothing irates me more than being mistaken for idiot.

Before gushing about them, I suggest you do this…

- Access their website from an european IP address
- Acess their site again from an american IP address
- Notice what they do with the pricing.

That’s right – numbers shown are the same, except that in the first case they are in EUROS… which is basically a 20% extra. Sure, use any web proxy and you can easily bypass that, but I will not be taking my business with a company that has just tried to play me for a fool. Can ANYONE in their right mind consider this any kind of remotely honest business practice?

Next thing you know, they will say those are shipping fees or something.

I have Godaddy and Just Host currently. This is the deal, if you can find your way around an FTP and know some code, you are better off with Just Host. While Godaddy talks a good game, they always want to sell you more stuff and their hosting is very expensive. I spent months trying to get my ecommerce site up on Godaddy. I was banging my head trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, then I signed up with Just Host, loaded all my files via the FTP and bingo site up in a couple of hours. I have a degree in Information Systems, so I do have a clue. Godaddy is for someone who wants to pay alot and have everything done for you. Justhost is for everyone else. I have found Justhost honest with consistent up time. I cannot say the same of Godaddy.

Agreed with Chris. JustHost has been a DREAM for me. I've hosted websites for over 10 years now, on a LOT of different hosts. JustHost has never been deceptive, never said no -- ever. Their prices are amazing, and as far as scalable web programming with PHP and MySQL, along with a crapload of other features, they can't be beat. Sure their site and CP are riddled with ads and whatever, but they are pretty good. Sure you have to read the TOS, but if you don't already, then you shouldn't be posting about scams, etc ;)

Just Host are a scam, I recently subscribed to their hosting after reading reviews for No1 Hosting.

My domain was up for 1 day and then it was offline for 6 days. I emailed them everyday to find out what was going on and they said they had a problem with their server and to wait 24 hours. This continued for 5 days, it was a joke. I tried to contact them via the Live Chat and when I mentioned I wanted a refund I got cut off.

I contacted Nominet as I wasn't sure what to do about getting my domain and email address back. Nominet said that as I bought my domain name from Reg 123 I could get Reg 123 to repoint my domain and email address to a new hosting company.

I contacted Reg- 123 to tell them what was going on and they said to send an email to raise a ticket to report the abuse.

I also contacted my local trading standards and they have made a note of my complaint.Just Host definately breached their advert of providing a hosting service to me.

I also called my credit card company and they said I will get a full refund as Just Host never provided the service I purchased.

I got my domain to go to another hosting company before I went back to Just Host to tell them what I thought of them, just in case they kept hold of my domain.

They offered my 3 month free membership when I said I wanted to cancel. I declined and they sent me a link to the cancellation section.

As I anticiapted they have a clause saying that they cannot release the domain for 60 days. I was also notified that I could only get my hosting fee back and non of the other services I purchased at the same time eg SEO control panel, domain privacy, faster server (what a joke!).

Does anyone know how to get a scam hosting company struck off?? Maybe its one for the police to investigate or Watchdog!

Anyone who does get scamed by Just Host, call your credit card company and get a refund and get your domain to point to another hosting company before cancelling with Just Host.

Well all you guys scared me. I am having a website built by some professionals, and they did recommend them, so I jumped it and paid for hosting just 5 minutes ago. The thing that worries me most is the fact they might need to see my drivers license, id, and they have all my credit card info, address and everything.
I know some of this is necessary, and it is to prevent fraud...and it can, but after seeing all this negative feedback that scares me the most. Ive never had that experience before purchasing things online.
Has this bothered anyone before? Anybody have any problems...beside on the hosting side? I think i would have rather paid Go Daddy 3 times the amount for the peace of mind, i just did this since it was recommended by who was building my website...

Does anyone have a list of domain providers not linked to Just Host?

I was scammed by them (through Super Green Hosting) last year and had to get my bank involved in order to get my money back. They kept £10 for the domain name.

My domain name was registered from June 2009 to June 2010, so I contacted them in July 2010 (i.e. this month) and asked when my domain would be released from Just Host. They said that it would take up to 90 days to be released, but I would not be notified of when this would occur, so I'd have to just look online myself.

I then paid to have my domain name transferred to 123-reg, only to find that they were affiliated with just host. Intially Just Host sent me an email asking me to confirm the transfer, however I needed an authorisation code. When I asked them for this, they then said that my domain name was cancelled so I will need to pay them £59.40 to reinstate it. I have refused and now need to chase 123-reg to get a refund.

They are absolutely extortionate and should not be allowed to get away with such practises.

I've been with them for 3 months now and whilst I've had no problems with my domains (I've got 3 running on my hosting package) I have found issues with the email. Firstly, since switching to justhost I've started receiving a lot more spam (approx 5 per day), mostly casinos and sites under the .ru domain and then yesterday I found that AOL don't accept any email sent from their servers. I suspect they sell on the email addresses in order to pass on cheap hosting - lets face it people, you get what you pay for. My last hosting provider wanted £100 for a 2 year hosting package for 1 site - for almost the same price I have a 5 year hosting package with unlimited domains - there is always a catch and having read a lot of these comments it seems people aren't reading the t&c's - when signing up for hosting I found it quite clear that I was paying for x years in advance as a lump sum - another reason why they can offer lower pricing I imagine as they get the money up front to invest and earn interest on.

As for customer service, I did have to email them at the start to get my domain transferred and they responding quickly and actioned it without any problems. I plan to email them regarding the AOL issue to see what they can do about it, if anything.

As far as I can see, they are legit but the cheapness is at the price of selling on email addresses and for all those complaining about poor english speaking call centers - it's 2010 and just about every major bank uses offshore call centers for customer services these days - you can't understand a word they say but they cost £2 per day to employ - it sucks but again allows for cheap servicing!!

They received my email to terminate, sent me an email back offering "incentives to stay" with them, and I declined. They were then supposed to terminate my account. I contacted them the next month and the next after being billed two more times. They FINALLY told me I have to fill out a form to have it "properly" termimated...they basically withheld this information from me so they could get a few payments out of me. Their "support" is a JOKE. Their product is CRAP. I was told that I own my domain name no matter what and now I'm told if I want them to release my domain name, I have to contact support and they will probably charge me a "transfer" fee. Anyways, there doesn't seem to be any hosting company that doesn't have any negative reviews. I'm glad we tried Just Host. We are located in the Philippines and we got the promo price of $2.95 per month. But in order to get this, we have to be tied up for two years. Beats having to renew every year, so we grabbed the chance. I'm a noob and not even an IT specialist but their online chat support was very helpful. Emails are also replied to faster than my previous host. There seemed to be a waiting time for the DNS to propagate after the switch but after that, everything's working fine. I used to experience blocked emails to several domains and this sucks as we are a business. But after the switch, I am now able to send emails without any problems.

Do the 'cancel account' process, requires confirmation that cancellation occurs AFTER the current billing process.

"I am sorry, we had to reinstall your server due to a hardware outage happened today. Right now we are restoring all sites from the backup automatically. It should be restored within 6-12 hours. If your site isn't up in 6-12 hours please let me know and I'll try to restore it manually out of turn."

"We need to restore all accounts to the new server. Please be patient, and take our apologise.

"Due to a server crash, all accounts have been moved to a new server, unfortunately we have no backup of your account so we cannot restore your account. I had to create a new account for you. If you have your own backup please provide us with it and we will restore it to your account."

I sent them a backup and I am running again, but.. I guess they do not have Redundant Servers and Sites.

I had a technical problem with sitebuilder software that was handled reasonably well. My problem with JustHost is their deceptive billing and refund policy. As an aside I would like to mention that the BBB reported that there were no complaints in the last 36 months (if I remember correctly) and gave them an overall rating of "C", solely for lack of data. If all you people with complaints had opened files with BBB perhaps the rating would be lower.
After creating my site I attempted to add search engine listing which was offered at $49.95. The web site reported that the transaction could not be completed (falsely as it turned out), so I tried again with the same result. I contacted them by LiveChat and was informed that the transaction was actually successful twice and was advised to contact billing directly. They immediately agreed that the second charge was in error and promised a refund in about 5 business days. Seven weeks later and a half dozen emails, and I have been told that there is a problem with their payment gateway that they are aware of (for how long I don't know) and have no idea how long it will take to fix. I asked for a paper check and was told that they have already released my money into the system and have no idea where it is. I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night!
Enom.com reports a domain manager in Arizona, but the BBB lists a California address for their contact information. They inform me that the company has 14 days to respond to my complaint and I expect they will take every one. Since their web site caused this problem by falsely reporting an incomplete transaction and their guarantee of 100% satisfaction or money back is not being honored, my next step will be contacting the attorney general for whichever state is correct and opening a case there.
Ironically, I am still using their servers and haven't had a problem with my site (so far), and until they punish me for comp-laining, I am stuck with them until my contract runs out. I have zero confidence in getting a refund if I try to terminate early!

I recently came over to JustHost from 2.5 years being with 1&1. I switched because I wanted to take advantage of the Black Friday 2010 deals.

So far so good. I don't know how some of you are experience so much bad luck.

I am a photographer so a website portfolio is a MUST! After looking at various hosting options, I went with JustHost with their 50% coupon deal. I am on their annual membership. I need my website portfolio so I renew annually.

I had a few questions and their support answered my emails promptly. When I wanted to use Google Apps as my email, I needed to change a few DNS entries, e.g. A-record, etc and guess what? Support at JustHost made them promptly. I am hoping that I will not experience bad customer service as some of you expressed. Knock on wood. Take my review as real and authentic. You can Google search me on the internet.

I've been with JH for a year, no problems with my basic 4 page site. Auto renewal took $107.40 for the next 12 months. Last year invoice says JBUS 12 months 70.40, this year invoice says JBUS2, 107.40. I guess $8.95/mo. isn't all that bad but I cannot find the "new" rates anywhere on the website. I only looked for 10 minutes! Maybe they are hidden. I would like to know what options I am paying for.
I remember when I signed up the website seemed very straight forward but now seems "clandestine". I got an email response from a Kerry Brown that rising technology and support costs as well as INFLATION are the reasons for my increase. The invoice is from an office in Phoenix AZ. I have a number to call - maybe an adventure from the looks of this string.

JustHost provides very poor customer service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! I signed up for recommended services and was immediately charged for them. After 2 weeks I canceled everything and was told my credit card would be credited. I later found out that these additional 'upgrades' are non-refundable. I agreed to these in the very fine print in my initial order. I have lost $112. They have kept my money and now I have nothing to show for it. Penalties are fine, but a total penalty with a false and misleading 100% satisfaction guaranteed is very poor and very much against the customer.

I've been with JustHost for a few months now. Initial setup was a nightmare. They had set me up as a individual instead of a reseller. Took a little effort to get that changed. Once I was set up, things seemed to go pretty smoothly until just last week when load times jumped through the roof. I've been arguing with them for 4 days now and they're still telling me "The problem is not on our end" Here's what I've gotten today.

"Hi Tim,

Sorry, but we don't have the answer on your problem. Please try to Google it.

Calling it a scam is too polite. I also am trying to cancel my hosting with Just Host. They have put me on their merry-go-round. I have never dealt with a more incompetent (or corrupt)organization. I don't think it is a commnications problem. When you tell them that you can't access the cancel menu because it says that you have already reqested to cancel they tell you to go to the cancel site.
Fortunatly they don't have my money, so it is their problem.

I have only registered with justhost a couple of days ago but after I read all this I decided to cancel. I had a 5 year plan for £87 with no extra addons (thank god I didn't get any when I registered!).
It might seem cheap but I have decided to cancel to avoid any trouble in the future.
I have had to email their cancellation, billing, refund and support emails to get this done.
The reply to my cancellation email was a link to cancel my hosting AFTER 5 years. They said it will be active for 5 years and I had no other option but to agree. I wasn't happy with this as I wanted to receive my refund straight away. So that's when I emailed their refunding service telling them that I am entitled for a refund. They replied within the hour stating that I need to cancel my hosting NOW, not after 5 years for a refund. I was a bit confused because that option wasn't available for me on the cancellation page. I emailed back and told them to cancel my hosting now. They replied back with how much I would get back excluding domain fees because I wanted to keep my domain. Supposedly it's $20 dollars for the domain but it looks like I have been charged $23. I didn't really care for the extra $3, I just wanted to avoid trouble. The refund has been confirmed by my paypal and said it will take 7 days for the transaction. Justhost confirmed that they have sent a refund and reminded me to cancel my subscription with them through paypal to avoid any extra costs. And so I did. I presume the money will be back in my account within 7 days as confirmed by paypal. I have contacted their support team to confirm that my domain name will be released by them within 60 days. I have yet to receive a reply for that email.
My cancellation only took one day to deal with and I was happy! I used the livechat about 5 times.. that's where I got those emails from.
Compared to you guys I feel lucky being scammed by only $3.

I have been with Just Host for over a year and now have 3 domains registered with them.
I have just noticed this site while browsing the net and thought i would give my 2 cents.
I have not had a problem with emails or my hosting package.
The odd occasion my sites have gone down it has been for a few seconds.
I have sites that send me uptime information and i am at around 99% which is great for a company that seems to be slagged off a lot on this site.
my newest site is http://www.bingopokercasino4u.com and has been online for 3 months with over 24000 visitors and i have never had my site suspended or locked out for receiving to many hits in a day.
I have used there online ticket support service and always received a timely reply with excellent answers to my problems and any issues ( not so much issues but my lack of thorough knowledge and needed assistance) resolved quickly.

At present I have no issue with them or any need to move to another provider.
I think a lot of the negative responses on here are competitor sites and should not be aloud to even leave slander.

If I do have any issues with Just host I will be back here to let you know.

As for the up-sell, just as a few other people have mentioned, you just ignore the banners etc in cpanel and the odd email and carry on with the package you have.

Just writing to stand up for these guys. I did have some downtime on my websites today, but the live chat feature allowed me to promptly communicate with a helpful support person. The downtime was caused during an OS level security update. At least they are performing upgrade. Some redundancy would be nice, but what do you expect for $5 per month?

I should also mention that I have been able to access my cPanel, Remote MySQL, and SFTP without any issues. I only have two sites so far, but add on domains are no problem and are completely included. It sounds like JustHost may have had some issues in the past, but are working to improve.

I too have used JustHost but never again! Last week when they tried to do their monthly billing for my biz site the charge didn't go through (My bank closed the card number due to account theft). Instead of emailing me with that information they just suspended my site.

I tried to log in to see why there was a huge banner on my homepage saying "ACCOUNT SUSPENDED". They had blocked access to my account! And my email. My business was completely shut down.

They have taken down their toll-free number so I couldn't call them. They only have live chat people who can't do anything at all except say "be patient". They told me I had an outstanding balance of $26.85 that was overdue by 3 days. So they closed my business down rather than give me a way to log in and give them new credit card info!

It's been two days and my site is still down despite issuing several support tickets flagged as high priority.

They have cost me hundreds of dollars of business all because of a $26.85 bill.

If you have an account with them, move it. Your time is coming with these jerks and they will not respond when you need them.

So far NO complaints... so far. The control panel and email are obviously different and I had to get use to them. I don't have a huge amount of traffic either on my site so that might help.

DO not under any circumstances use SuperGreenHosting.com (aka justhost.com)- I've been in the web design business since 1995 and this is the absolute worst company I've had to deal with. The list of just how incompetent and unethical they are is too long to show here. Recently they took 107.50 from my account for a website that was not due to renew yet - and they gave me no alert that they were doing so. I had not intended on renewing this site and when I contacted tech support to insist on a refund - well, 15 emails later I am getting the same canned response that is utterly useless.(I think they rotate different 'representative's' names for the signature, but the verbiage is always the same). Even after I canceled the account and demanded a refund I get no repsonse other than a come-on promo (utter BS) to stay with them.....so after a huge waste of time, I am going to have to contact by bank to let them know of this scam and see if I can get my money back - otherwise, I file a claim

He tried to install a script i made, i know it runs fine, its nothing to setup cuz i made the install for it. After uploading the site and getting the mysql setup i went to finalize the admin panel and kept redirecting to a index.html folder.....not a file, a folder, when we approached them about it, they said it was like that on every webhost and tried to sell him more stuff.

Tech support sucks, redirection on your websites so php and mysql never really runs properly there. We tried the live help, it was a bot spitting out random phrases and had nothing to do with our conversation. We tripped the bot by typing in "justhost sucks", it spit out this 200 word essay about how little they sucked in under 2 seconds, so unless they got some impressive typers or there really is no live people at the end of the live help.

An absolute scam company!

I started getting emails from them about the expiration date on my credit card being expired and how they would take my site down and how they would keep my domain name (laughable) and so on and so forth.

1. I went to their site and entered my credit information.

2. They charged my card.

3. A few days later they took my site down.

4. They said I never paid the invoice.

5. I sent them proof of the charge, but they continued to email me saying I had never made the charge.

6. I moved the site and disputed the charge with my credit card company.

7. They lose on all fronts.

Any positive feedback about JustHost on this thread is probably from them.

My main site hosted on justhost was hacked on April 9th,2011. I am supposed to have a backup, when we tried to use the backup to get the site back, we found that the back up was tampered with by the hacker (so your backup was not saved in a secure location. justhost was unable to restore the site. I got some to help in restoring the site but since April 11, 2011, we cannot log to our cpanel (do not ask me why), we requested a back up of all the files of the site to move it to another hosting account because of our inability to log to the cpanel. We received the files about 2 days ago, when my people were working on the site, they found out that all the public html folder is missing, now it is April 13, 2011. Waiting for the site folders. I do not know if we will ever be able to login to the cpanel . Comparing this with the same problem with Hostgator, in less than 5 minutes, my back up was restored and the site was running again in very short time. Now if you do not believe it, I have 50 emails going between me and their support that testify to my comment here. And if people mention what goes wrong, is just to help another person to avoid these pitfalls. So you can be the judge if justhost is good or not.

JustHost.com sucks! My site went down 15 times this month! My revenue on my website has been severely affected. 99.9% uptime guarantee? Bull crap. I experienced 66% uptime this month, horrible. I search google and yahoo for "JustHost reviews" or "Justhost.com review" and see reviews that look like JustHost spammed search engines with good reviews created by themselves! No legitimate blog/website has written a good review about JustHost. They use the same person for customer support in the chat room, but they give fake mediocre names like "Victor", "Max", "Cindy", "Ralph", etc to seem like they have an actual support team. Offer a lawsuit for false advertisement and they can't even give you a physical address (it's located in Phoenix, Az, in "iPower Inc" which is a domain/hosting company too, so JustHost may just be a fake competition site, a subsidiary of "iPower Inc", so don't use either company!) I have been with JustHost for around one year. When I signed up it said on there website that I would get losts of add ons for a very low price, I then payed the money for my Domain and Server space just to be told on the next page that I could now purchase them as add ons for an extra fee which was not cheap. This IS a form of FALSE advertising and the only place you can get away with it is online.

Putting that aside what I recieved from them was still very good value in this market. So I did keep my package because I got my domain and hosting account for 2 years. Well so they said.

They have now tried to charge me for this domain name which I should have owned for 2 years, luckily I have cancelled there direct debit via Paypal and I have a new bank card which is a different number. I am no spring chicken to the Internet game and I will not be doing business with Just Host again.

One thing I shall add though is I have never experienced anything bad with there Customer service and would have to admit they were actually quite good but there Marketing leaves a bad taste in my mouth and for that reason people beware.

I have 3 clients hosting their domains on my account as well as my development environment (for my new clients) running on a sub-domain of my company domain.

I got an email with a statement on 5/19/11. Without warning or any type of notice my domain running my business portfolio was shutdown on 5/26/11. There was no message in the mail log at http://billing.justhost.com or any type of indication the site had been shutdown (or why). I can only assume it was because my credit card on file had been expired.

Needless to say, that is unacceptable. Luckily my primary domain is still active so I can access my files. I am in the process of transferring all my domains and sites to Media Temple - the company that hosts the jQuery project (and many others) for free.

I bought two years of hosting from justhost, and this is the first time I've ever bought something online and been ripped off so shamelessly.

Within 4 days there was a problem with the site due to the resource limit, that's understandable and I asked for a refund since it turned out not to be a suitable hosting solution for the site. BUT two months later I'm yet to be refunded. Despite the promise of an 'anytime refund'.

Their refund department, after a little bit of negotiating agreed on an appropriate figure. However, that's as far as it got. When I wrote to confirm I'd like the refund, they sent some random automated reply that was totally irrelevant to the situation. I asked twice more, waiting patiently between mails. They are definitely ignoring me.
Furthermore I've been locked out of the control panel (they appear to have changed my password), so I have no hosting now either.

Every step of the way they try to sell you something, they are very slick at making sales, and it seems they use even more ruthless tactics to profit from departing customers.

Unfortunately I paid with PayPal and the 45 days within which I can dispute has elapsed. It's horrible when a company makes you jump through hoops to get your money back, but even worse when after all that, they pocket your money, add you to some 'ignore this customer' list, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

At the end of the day, it is among the cheapest hosting you can get. But these people are crooks. I've seen reviews that the exact same farcical things have happened to other people. Only use this company if you are desperate. If you can afford it, go with a half decent and legitimate company.

Hosting companies I've hosted within include, BlueHost, Hostgator, Lunarpages, openmindhosting, KnownHost, ServerLoft. I definitely recommend all those companies, BlueHost and Hostgator offer good cheap hosting packages.

In case anyone is interested, here's a transcript of my conversation with their refund department:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Sorry to bother you once more, but I've still not been refunded, and after waiting a few days justhost haven't even replied.
I'm not sure if the last technician was following the conversation but I have been offered a $50.80 refund by Addie Saber (see below). This is because the site was only hosted 4 days, even though two months have elapsed since, the site hadn't been online at all during that time, so it was agreed justhost would waive the hosting charge. There was a problem with the hosting, it just wasn't the right fit for my site (we needed more resources, and within 4 days it was exceeding what this hosting package allowed).
I accept this refund.

If it helps speed things up, here are details of my payment:

Within just a few weeks of uploading our website, I received an email from Justhost saying our account had been suspended as we had been sending out thousands of spam emails regarding pornographic films. I vigorously protested our innocence and demanded our website be unblocked. It took nearly six hours and dozens of emails before they admitted they'd made a mistake and put us back online (sorry, it wont happen again, was all I got out of them). I lodged a very strong complaint to the senior supervisor, who apologised, and offered us an upgrade to priority assistance (big deal! it means email enquiries are guaranteed to be responded to within half-hour). I gave them another chance, but several months later, they messed our account up again.
I've gone elsewhere now, and good blooming riddance to them!

BE WARNED. I too signed up and within in hours had technical problems. The live chat is worthless. The support system is not responsive and typical will point the finger a you some how until you paint them in a corner.

I cancelled and asked for refund and was told their terms and conditions state they don't offer refunds on monthly accounts. Funny thing is I read it over three times and it say no such thing. I pushed the issue in multiple emails and only go you've used more then 50% of a month so we can't refund. Its total crap. My accounts had DNS resolve issues from Day #1. Never got resolved. I opened a second account (shame on me) to prove that was the problem (Which it was). Asked for a refund for the remainder of the first account. I thought I would still give them a chance even after denying me a refund but now this account has been offline multiple times in a day. The tech support says "Working on it, try a little later". Seriously?

So now I will try for the refunds again document their hollow reply then dispute the Credit Card Charges the best I can.

JUSTHOST.COM and HOSTCLEAR.COM are the same company by the way. They also run their own webhost review sites that purposely look like they're a recommended provider.

Do your homework and you'll see they terrible.

This is indeed a scam. Two years ago I got a two year hosting package for around $70. Now they tried to renew it for $210.

I complained but since we didn't reach an agreement, I started to transfer all my domains to hostgator. After getting the EPP codes from them, and specifically telling them that I didn't want to renew, they went ahead anyway and charged me for two years hosting.

I'm now in the process of refuting their credit card charge...

BTW in JustHost's terms of service it says that you'll automatically agree to the renewal price, whatever that is!! This is just too bad to believe...

Had a bad experience with their customer service just now. I asked to have my main domain changed (my previous main domain is about to expire and I don't want to renew it anymore). To my surprise, there's a $14.95 setup fee. So I paid that fee and just attributed it to karma for not planning my domains right. So I was transferred to billing to pay the fee, once they charged me that awfully expensive setup fee, I was transferred back to technical support. Lo and behold, nobody is answering and it got stuck to the "Please be patient as we connect you to the next available operator..." for 30 minutes so I just cancelled the chat and hopefully try tomorrow.

So for all the rave about the customer support, it's not really all that peachy. I'm just keeping it real fellas.

I just joined with JustHost.com, was a slight delay in getting my details sent across, but spoke with their service desk and got it sorted in less that 4 minutes.
Instead of moaning, try using the instant messenger function. Worked a treat for me. The operators manage many calls at once, so can't answer immediately. Just try being a little less aggressive when speaking with operators and you may get better results.

Just Host is a fraud company. It is cheater. For one year I had been requesting for Cancellation of my services but they always cheated me. Now I have asked to give my Authorization Code and Registration Key so that I should register my Domain with some other good Company. For the last 6 hours they are totally doing unlawful things. To my astonishment they have sold my web site to other Company ENOM.COM who have placed it onsale. It a fraud case. I will take them to the court of Law.

This is my letter to justhost, after months of DISGUSTING SERVICE:

To JustHost

having just renewed my account with you, I have just been submitted to extreme inconvenience yet again due to one of your servers being 'down'. It seems to happen every week and it creates loss of income and fading of readers loyalty.
I find this unacceptable. One of your chat representatives informed me that I have no recourse and that I cannot be compensated for what is now a very dissatisfactory service.
Even the electricity boards of the UK, for example, when they fail to deliver electricity, reimburse a certain amount for each segment of time in which a customer had to endure being without electricity. A smooth hosting service needs to provide exceptional 'up' time, otherwise you should make this very clear (that you cannot offer any regular 'up' time due to your faulty servers).

I have contacted hostgator and it seems that I could transition to them relatively easily. Make I take this opportunity to say that their customer service is much, much better than yours and they are overall much more professional. BEFORE placing an order with them, however, I need you to guarantee that you will refund me my renewal cost (the one you just charge me and that I have just paid, about 190 dollars!) and that you will assist in making sure there is no interruption of hosting service in the interim.

SO, I repeat, for now things remain as they are but I need you to help me in taking this further in one way or another.
As I said, once I have your reply I can then place an order with hostgator. Meanwhile, my service is with you and I do not wish to see any interruption of it until we have discussed and finalized the matters raised in this email.

I am speechless, quite frankly, at how poorly you treat your customers. I have been with you for 2 years now and I would expect your service to be professional and helpful, rather than destruptive and careless.

Alternatively, some form of compensation will suffice to put this very frustrating matter to rest.

There are no words to describe my thoughts and feelings about your increasingly appalling service. It's been worse and worse and it is truly unacceptable that you would expect a paying customer of 2 years to just put up with it. You are very quick to send nasty urgent notices when payment is due but you don't seem to care if your customers lose money and readership due to your disgusting service.

Justhost? No, justnightmare.

My final thoughts to anybody who reads: STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY. It is the most shambolic company I have ever encountered. DISGUSTING. APPALLING. THEY CANNOT GET AWAY WITH IT ANYMORE.

Absolute shit. I paid for fast servers and all this extra shit and got nothing.

I have daily server crashes.

When you ring or email them you get "the server is now back up" or "reqest to be changed to another server".

FFS my site has 30 visits a day. I have a nintendo 64 that would keep the site online.

So, funnily enough my experience has been complete opposite to this. I've had great service in the past two years, server has gone down only a few times and it's been a fast and good service. Any problems, even stuff they don't usually give help for, have always been solved using the live chat.

I had a website with over 2000 members and 100's of hits a day and not a problem at all.

However, my contract was due on 24th November, so previously I was told when I want to cancel to make sure to turn off all paypal subscriptions and turn off auto renew. I did exactly those. I had the unlimited deal at a discounted rate for 35 GB Pounds for the past 2 years.

When I signed up it said NOTHING about it being for 1 year, 2 year, 3 years..So I assumed it was for life or as long as I kept it.

Last Wednesday I get an invoice saying I've been charge 94.50 GB Pounds. I've had no email or notice warning or letting me know the price would go up. They usually send out an automated email prior to taking out this money to let you know it's going to be taken out therefore also reminding you if you want to cancel.

Now it's taken 3 days so far for Refunds to reply to my email and still nothing. The Live Chat is only for General and Billing and no one can help me. I'm flying home on Friday and I now have no money seen as they took the little that was left from me so I'm having to lend money from friends to even eat.

I was so happy until this. DO NOT sign up, just for the pure fact that they clearly don't want you to cancel therefore don't want to refund and don't reply your emails for DAYS.

The turnaround time for a reply is 1 - 2 days. Which is what i've been told by several people now.

Hi everybody! Im so surprised to find all these horrible words about Just Host. Im in New Zealand and chose 2 years ago a close-by host for my personal website, where I post my podcasts etc. I had a huge issue in the first week because I had never heard of Cpanel at the time, so I thought it was indeed a big scam. Once I went online for help there was YES a virtual costumer service, a fake person trying to see some services, but once you close that u will speak to a real person, at least in Australia, probably you guys are getting someone in Asia somewhere, as I know many USA companies use Singapore and Thai customer services that can be a pain! so hard luck for u.
I love Justhost now that I am used to it, my website was never down, and Im on a 20 gb bandwidth per day. Thumbs up for just Host Australia. the best investment I've done in years.

Justhosts are con merchants.

They charged me a vastly inflated price for the renewal of my webspace. I then demanded my money back and found that they send reminders FOUR days before a renewal is due but take the money SEVEN days before. What a way to do business. Now they are refusing to transfer my domain name to another ISP. Avoid these crooks like the plague.

I signed up for their reseller hosting under their SuperGreenHosting.com site and a month later they "absorbed supergreenhosting.com as it was a "sister company". I then found out after they move us over that all my resale accounts were being advertised to when my customers logged out of their Cpanel - they were being redirected to a page similar page to the JustHost.com home page. I took a video of it and went through the process of cancelling the account which says the account will remain active until such and such a date (since I paid a full year up front). I'm waiting for a response from their refunds@justhost.com department now and haven't heard back from them. I've only received a email from the billing department telling me to login and use their online feature to cancel the account - which states my account will be active for the full term anyways. There is a clause in the anti-trust laws which I can use in this particular case considering.

Made the mistake of signing for a membership approximately a month ago. Almost from the onset, experienced numerous performance related problems. Despite submission of more than half a dozen trouble tickets, never received any tangible resolution. Problems included connectivity to backend database, inability to access WordPress admin panel, etc. Without notification, Just Host suspended my account for utilization of system resources in excess of 10%, which is highly doubtful. Without attempting to determine if a Denial of Service (DoS) or other cause was to blame, they promptly suspended my account and posted a large banner stating such on both of my websites. While the technical support number is 24/7, quite often actual access to the system occurs from persons in the Ukraine! To those considering JustHost.com, strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a hosting provider.

This site has taken down my site without notice and cause. They double billed me for an additional hosting service i never used. They advised me that i needed to cancel the account at justhost.cancel.com which is nearly impossible since it keeps getting wrong password. They even reset the password and still couldn't cancel. As a result, i went to my credit card company and disputed the additional charge.

When they got the chargeback in retaliation they suspended by good account. They told me that their chargeback department would get back to me, but they never did

Canceling is nearly impossible with them. When i finally did over the phone i still had a suspended good account.

I sent them an attorney letter, i will take legal action if i lose my files.

This is a company that really is headquarted in MA, but works out of Provo, Utah. I advise those who suffered similar difficulties to make complaints with both the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau out of Massachusetts.

The cancellation of Justhos.com is really a pain in the axx (sorry for the language, but just to express). Justhost.com support/billing teams were not really helping the cancellation, but created confusion and dragged longer. We were totally dissatisfied and frustrated by the support team responses, provided links, instructions and process. a trap! darn!

Also, their affiliate/reward program does not pay us a dine when we referred friends to buy their services. We regraded that we did it.

Bad business practices. Not coming back and referring anyone.

It's terrible to see so many complaints about
My case is far more shameless because they go to beyond all limits riping me off and suspended my website with the escuse that I was using phishing.
This was two days ago and my site remains with no access because as they say their TC.
So how the things happen.
I received an email from Google saying that some phishing site was linked to my site.
I don't believed at first because Google has giving a lot of misleading info, however I start to investigate based in G backlink.
They are right this time and I was having a good looking website from ??Wells Fargo?? residing in an old directory that was not used for more than a year.
So if it's not me to put it there how can I get that page there is two more same type but diferent names in my directory other than from external source injected by any means
unknown for me.
I delected the directory and make some search to see if there are more problems, changed the password of the server and closed it thinking that is over done with that!
How wrong I was!!!
Later in the afternoon I receive an email from Justhost saing that I was phishin as if I was stupid to do that in my own server and domain and saying that my websites are already suspended for breaking TCs.
Immediately I replay back saying that is a lie that I have nothing to do about that and asking to put my site back up again and investigate why this happen and as I'm on five years contract if they persist with the idea of closing my site I wanted my money back and wnting a replay in writing.
Until now no replay only silence.
To finish some thoughts.
I bought this contrct thinking the company is american from USA.
So what I take from this is someone or something made this job. External or internal yes could be internal to use the escuse of TC to keep all my money and with so much policies FBI, Pipa, Sopa, etc and politics about Internet how noone sees this things happen punish the culprits and protect a litle the litle guy like us from such rogue companies. After all thats for that that we elect governments is for protecting citizens
with laws where justice prevails.

Thanks for reading this. John

I cannot understand all these negative reviews. I have used Justhost for over a year and had no downtime. We had a slight problem transferring a domain from another registrar but as soon as I asked Justhosts support they provided me with accurate and full information ad the process was completed without any problem.

They are CHEAP! Amazing value and no downside that I can find.

I bought 2 yrs @ 3.75 a month with JustHost about a week ago. No problems so far. What few issues I did have, I submitted a Ticket, and within hours I received an answer. Their tech support has been fine for me. Their video tutorials are the best I've seen. Now to see how things goes over the weeks and months ahead.
