I have nothing but praise for these guys. I've used a number of companies over the years, but I've now moved all my sites to Hostmonster.

I've been with Hostmonster for the last several months and had no particular issues so far. I have several of my domain names hosted there. Only one of them has an active website, though.

The pricing is OK for me, uptime and performance are good.

HostMonster does not care about their customers, and unfortunately, their staff is not equipped to handle technical problems. I was with HostMonster for 2 months and I experienced downtime of 2 to 3 days at a time on FOUR separate occasions. I called them time and time again only for them to tell me that they were trying to fix the problem and didnt know what the cause was. I asked them to move me to a server that worked and they said they do not move clients. So I sat on a server that was down for days on end, costing me thousands in advertising fees and lost traffic. I have been hosting my websites for 12 years on the Internet and HostMonster is by far the worst of them all.

System does not respond to HTTP and FTP requests more often than it does. I'm in the final throws of getting myself ready to move elsewhere-- giving them one last chance to fix things.

Since migrating, as much as I like the technical features available, I find it unacceptable that their "99.9% uptime guarantee" isn't backed with any consequence. When the system goes down for any reason, loss of power, scheduled maintenance--twice, or any other reason... there is no compensation for the system being offline.

Additionally, no matter how fast they respond to tickets, resolution is more important than speed. If it takes the same amount of time to get a resolution as with any other site, but you have to spend frustrating hours from quick response to resolution teaching the guy on the other end of the line how to do his job (and I wonder if they aren't just acting stupid, or if they really are that inept), it equates to the same thing but is a much more frustration journey to get to the same place.

If I were running a commercial website, I would not have been as patient as I have been with them.

Excellent Hosting for decent price

well, i tried hosting with hostmonster earlier this month. when the site WAS working, it was fast! however, in the first week, they had some "scheduled downtime" that was less than 24 hours, but when it did come back up, all my files were not owned by my account. i had to redo some things like set up my ssh account. i opened tickets, but they couldn't resolve my problem until i pointed out that i was no longer the owner of the files. then this past week, my site went down again. 48 hours and counting now. opened a ticket, they said it was a ddos attack. that's fine and understandable, but no backup plans? come on. needless to say, i have canceled my account with them. bad, bad experience all around. only good thing was their support tickets were answered quickly (not necessarily to my satisfaction, but quickly...sigh)

I have am realy happy with the service by hostmonster, everyone should be with them

After a horrid experience with GISOL, I switched to Host Monster. I must say that I have had nothing but pleasant service from them. I would recommend Host Monster to anyone wanting to host their own site.
