to this review here A disturbing pattern of poor business practices, poor customer service, poor credit or billing practices and general customer dissatisfaction has emerged at Hostway. A Google search reveals a number of disgruntled Hostway customers. According to former Hostway customer mongrelly, "HOSTWAY NOT ALL IT SEEMS", drickman says, "MISLEADING ADVERTISING", fourofour states, "I AM VERY DISPLEASED BY THE SERVICE (OR LACK THEREOF), almcc2 declares, "AGGRESSIVELY UNHELPFUL TECHNICAL SUPPORT", mzarozinski writes "CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE TOILET", from tman269, "HOSTWAY IS KILLING MY BUSINESS", m0213 states, "HOSTWAY.COM CHEATED ME", tom b says, "A REAL PAIN, I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH HOSTWAY AGAIN", sharks13, declares, "U WILL FAIL WHEN U TREAT PEOPLE LIKE CRAP" and playerline.com warns, "STAY AWAY". According to the Better Business Bureau of Chicago, they processed a total of 43 complaints about this company in their last standard reporting period. Hostway moved our site to a new server and claimed that they notified us by email, which they did not. The could not find the DSN for our database and did not bother calling and asking in order to get it running. I even called them because I could not FTP up my data and they never mentioned it. My site has been up and down for over a week. The customer service department has hung up on me. The supervisor has not called me back. After promising to move my site to a different server. I explained to them that I had to have my site working by Monday, I could not go through another week of trouble and keep up with my work load. It took them 3 days. It wasn't until I called them and told them that I would not hang up until they fixed my problem. I was on hold for 5 hours and 30 minutes. At about 2 and a half hours on hold. After 3 hours of being on hold I had to call in on another line and insist that the supervisor speak with me and let me know what was going on. It was a true nightmare. |
