The terms refers to the Nameservers used by a domain name. Usually when you change a hosting provider you need to update your domain name Nameservers Info so that your domain name can start resolving (pointing) at the new web hosting company servers.

The Nameservers information can be updated at the company where your domain name is registered. Usually most registrar companies provide a domain name management interface where you can manage your domain name as you wish.

The Nameservers information is usuallly provided to you by your new hosting company upon the account activation. They look something like:
ns1.example.com
ns2.example.com
