Why Unlimited or Unmetered hosting packages are not possible?
Also check around if you think a host is charging too little for too much. Sometimes it is a legit way for the host to get back on their feet sometimes it is the host out to get you. While the web hosting world is not full of sour apples it isn't exactly full of sweets either.
Some important factors to check on a host when planning to sign-up: Support, Support Response Time, Server Stability, Hosts willingness to assist you with extended issues, Server policies are also important, it shows that the host is willing to reject some customers to keep the server clean and free of any people that may cause problems with the server itself (spam, virus distributors etc)
There are some features that are allowed to be unlimited however because they are just a free service to the host anyway and are run server-side. Some of these are mailing lists, mail accounts, ftp accounts, sub-domains, and databases. Databases are limited however usually because they can be strenuous on the server and drop its stability and performance.
The best way to find the information about your host is ask around, ask the host questions, look for trial memberships, look for money back guarantees and testimonials.. although testimonials may be forged most hosts are pretty straightforward about it. Ask them questions pertaining to them and such.
As a Web Host myself I do look to help myself, but I also see other hosts suffering as a result as well and this is meant to support all web hosts out there, not just myself. Who you go with is strictly your own choice and you choose who you think is right.

1,000gb Space & unlimited everything else For $12.95/mo and this is not even a resller account but if you go ot their resller plans their Diamond plan only has 100Gb space & 700Gb bandwith with unlimited everything else for 99.95/mo. Now I may be worng but don't ya think a realler acocunt should have more space and bandwith then a reguer account especily when the Resller plan is alteast 3x moe then a reguler hositng account LOL.

I agree with this topic 100% but as far as hostgator their plans realy don't make any sence to me because their Swamp plan offers 1,000gb Space & unlimited everything else For $12.95/mo and this is not even a resller account but if you go ot their resller plans their Diamond plan only has 100Gb space & 700Gb bandwith with unlimited everything else for 99.95/mo. Hosting in some ways is like a Magic show. Talent and illusions. You have to have some talent to pick up a couple of dedicated servers and start sharing things out and selling real-estate on them to the public. The Magic is doing such a good job that the customer does not have to worry about any overages just popping up, or the server going off line and vanishing one day with their real estate, time, money, scripts and reputation.

Bandwidth and Disk space can and will never be unlimited. Sub domains, domains, email, sql, Ftp accounts(not ftp space or bandwidth pertaining to usage) all would in most likelihood not need to be monitored as closely. servers, computers ect all have limits to how much one can store on them. Everything has a limit and if you don't understand that then one day you will wake up and see a "suspended" page on your site or it just wont be there anymore.Hosting in some ways is like a Magic show. I saw a hosting comapny advertising 1TB of Disc Space and 2TB of bandwidth. All of this for $7 per month.
How can this be possible? Just imagine the cost of 1TB disc space. It will shoot through the roof!
It is always better to the ones that offer "mid-range". I myself use hostgator and they are good. They offer 5GB Disc space-75GB bandwidth.
